Hi Emily, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I believe I inherited my resilience from my mother. I’ve always watched her stand as a warrior through all life’s battles. Having good role models/good support systems throughout your life helps instill confidence and willpower to withstand the obstacles life throws at you. With that being said, Jesus has been a big factor in my resilience too. Whatever higher power you believe in, will always be there to guide you through your journey. Remember the obstacles on your journey are PART of Your Journey! Having strong faith has definitely helped me build a strong foundations to stand on and has been a big factor in my resilience moving forward in my life.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My name is Emily Grace Founder & Owner of Mad Mellow! Mad Mellow is business centered in live entertainment in the genres of reggae/indie rock & crystal jewelry creations. We have been making crystal jewelry for about 6 years now full-time and about a year ago started the music portion of Mad Mellow. We love to match our customers with their perfect crystal accessories. Crystals have natural healing properties so not only are they elegant additions to your favorite outfits, they all also have various healing properties associated with each stone! Cool right? We also do custom creations if you want to watch your own ideas come to life! What’s most exciting about both the jewelry and the music aspects of Mad Mellow is the fact that we get to make people smile for a living! We love nothing more than the lift people’s spirits whether that be through a new piece of jewelry or through our original music that’ll get you on your dancing feet! We have a duo gig at The Chill Room in west Lake Worth November 22nd 8pm & full band at Propaganda in Lake Worth Beach 12/27 at 9pm if anyone is interested in checking us out in person! If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Confidence, Organization, Consistency are three components that are very important in the business and entertainment industry. If I have any advice for someone trying to follow their dreams and start a small business or to start a band it would be these three factors. You have to have confidence in what you make otherwise people will doubt you, have faith in your product/music! Also confidence and stage presence are important when it comes to live music. There will be people that will doubt you but if your confidence outweighs what those kind of people say you’ll be just fine. Don’t let others stop you from doing what you believe in! Organization is another key factor when it comes to running a business. I keep everything in my calendar to stay organized and on track. Being punctual with venues and craft events is crucial because you want them to ask you to come back. Lastly, consistency. This is more for the band side of things in my opinion. Making sure you show up and give it your all and leave things at the door so to speak as to not bring things outside onto the stage. You want to bring good energy and I promise doing that is contagious. Also when it comes to booking shows, the venues are usually very busy getting so many emails everyday so if you don’t hear back for awhile don’t be afraid to reach back out and try again!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Mad Mellow would love to do more collaborations especially in the music side of things. We have been releasing our original music for about a year now and have a lot more where that comes from! But we are always excited to collaborate with new people whether that be local or nationally! We have one collaboration so far on our original “Long Time” ft Cultivated Mind who is an artist out of Virginia, which is available wherever you stream your music.
