We recently connected with Emily Lamberton Hill and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience has been forged through experience — it’s something you can only earn by moving through life’s hardest moments and choosing to rise again. I’ve faced my share of challenges: losing my brother at 18, walking through divorce, rebuilding my life from financial struggle, and navigating a childhood that taught me strength early on. Each season shaped me in profound ways.
Being an athlete since childhood gave me a foundation of discipline and grit — it taught me that I can push through discomfort and even find strength in it. And motherhood took that to a whole new level. Giving birth to four children — three of them at home, all without pain medication — reminded me of the incredible resilience and power that I embody.
At this point in my life, resilience isn’t just about surviving challenges; it’s about trusting myself to grow through them.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I help people reclaim and rebuild their health from the foundations up. What makes my approach to holistic health and fitness coaching unique is that I look at the whole person — not just their workouts or diet. I take into account every layer of well-being: daily habits, nutrition, movement, mindset, and environment. From there, I create personalized recommendations that include lifestyle shifts, tailored fitness plans, nutrition guidance, and even supplement support if desired. Most importantly, I provide the accountability and encouragement people need to integrate these habits long-term — so they can prevent or even reverse chronic conditions and truly thrive.
I’m especially excited about the upcoming launch of my Healthy Lifestyle + Fitness Planner, a tool designed to make it easier for anyone to navigate their personal health journey with clarity and consistency. I’m also currently authoring a book that breaks down what it really means to live a healthy, fit lifestyle — empowering people to take their health back into their own hands.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been curiosity, compassion, and commitment. My insatiable curiosity about the human body — its potential, intelligence, and limitations — has fueled my lifelong pursuit of knowledge and growth in the field of holistic health. My passion for helping others is anchored in compassion and continues to inspire creativity and innovation in how I serve. And my personal commitment to my own health transformation — physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually — has been the foundation of everything I teach. It’s through that inner work that I’ve come to truly understand and live my dharma.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to let passion be your compass and allow your adversities to become your greatest teachers. Expect challenges, but design systems that support your success. Surround yourself with mentors and peers who stretch your growth, and be fiercely protective of your time and energy — they are your most valuable resources.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone who is truly ready for change — someone who feels called to take ownership of their health and is willing to show up for themselves in a consistent, meaningful way. They’re not looking for a quick fix; they’re seeking transformation. They value connection, honesty, and partnership, and they understand that real progress happens through trust, accountability, and collaboration.
What makes an ideal client isn’t perfection — it’s willingness. A willingness to learn, to grow through challenges, and to stay the course even when it’s uncomfortable. I love working with people who are curious about their own potential, open to exploring both the physical and emotional sides of healing, and considerate of the process — both theirs and mine. Those who come with an open heart, consistent effort, and a hunger for change tend to experience the most powerful results.
