Meet Emily Rose

We recently connected with Emily Rose and have shared our conversation below.

Emily, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

Knowing that The Universe is For Me, and not against me, really helped me step forward into my dreams full of optimism and courage to put myself out there. So far its being reflected back to me that what I like to do, what I love and want to do, what lights me up, what revs my engine, is also stirring something in others. And as I follow my path of loving to take film photos I’m seeing a resurgence around me of film becoming popular again. I see it being for sale in major stores, and it’s becoming more accessible again. I’m So Optimistic with Love for Film, black and white photography, and my Antique camera’s. In addition to using film, I’m also creating Originals with adding my art to the photographs, prints or canvases. I am So Filled with Excitement and Optimism to use film more! I still use digital, but I Love My Film Cameras!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a Multidisciplinary Creative – I Love to create However I Can! I’ve been an artist my whole life. My Passion Right Now is to create Art with Film, 35mm and medium format film, then get it printed and add art to it, creating originals. Beautiful, meditative, I love creating these pieces. I also use my Smartphone in daily life to Photograph flowers, insects, sunrises, sunsets, and more. I also have a digital DSLR camera which I use. I also like to paint abstract creations and do nature inspired line work on them with acrylic paint pens.
I’m teaching beginner drawing classes right now with the Cincinnati Art Group, we meet on various Saturday mornings and I love sharing my knowledge!
Also, I have a passion project that I’ve been determinedly plugging away at in the background! Can’t wait to share more! I have a Patreon where I share more about my art and life.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I think the qualities that have made the most impact on my life are Determination, an Eye for Detail, and the Ability to Brainstorm like Mad. I think these qualities are important for anyone who is just getting started, or even continuing on in their journey, to always be Determined to go after your Dreams! To have an Eye for Detail is so Important because sometimes even the little things are the most important to your audience. And the Ability to Brainstorm is such a good skill to have because having new ideas is so important to moving forward with your life, business and creativity.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel Overwhelmed, I write, I journal, sometimes I write a poem, I breathe and meditate, pray and speak out my fears to the Universe. It helps to phone a friend and speak out loud about whats going on so you can frame the issues and it helps to see it in a 3-dimentional way in your mind and work through it. Breathing in to a count of 4, and out to a count of 4, and picturing a circle in your mind, when you breathe in, follow the circle with your eyes, going from the bottom around the left up to the top, filling up your lungs, and when you breathe out, follow the circle down the right to the bottom, emptying your lungs, repeat and just do this til you calm down and can focus again. Then write, and call a trusted friend or family member.
