We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Emmanuel Ifeanyi Ifediba. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Emmanuel Ifeanyi below.
Emmanuel Ifeanyi , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from the trials I’ve faced in my life. I used to think the song “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” by Kelly Clarkson was silly, but she had a point about the need to handle adversity and how it makes you stronger. When I look back at every opportunity I didn’t receive, the people who laughed at me, mocked me, made fun of me, or just overall disappointments, it all truly gave me more confidence in myself to push forward.
One of my favorite quotes from Eren Yeager is, “I must keep moving forward,” and I truly believe that in life you must have delusional confidence in yourself and in God’s plan for you to keep moving forward no matter what happens. Pressure creates diamonds, and although I’m still a rock, I am slowly but surely becoming more confident in myself and my ability to handle any challenge that comes my way.
For me, the main way I handle adversity is through exercise. Primarily through playing basketball, pickleball, or surfing, I truly relieve the stresses of the week and can just focus on the activity at hand. I like to start with exercise, and from there, I have a bigger reserve of energy to handle the other functions of life.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hello!
My name is Emmanuel Ifeanyi Ifediba, I go by Ifeanyi (E-Fahn-Nee). I was born Nigeria an came to the U.S when I was two and a half. I’ve been priviledge to go to private school all my life (Saint Jerome, Loyola Highschool and Santa Clara University) and will be attending Berkeley Haas Fall 2025. Right now I am working as a consultant at Accenture and an MBA coach for Early Admit, an Airbnb Super Host, Comedian and Actor. Why so much? I truly wanted to use the deferred MBA period to chase my passion and see if i can make it my full time position. I’ve been blessed with acting to perform for a Netflix show, a Verizon commericla and film with Druski and Theo Vonn. Additionally signed my first client for Early Admit as well! I would like to spread word about any possible acting, standup or deferred MBA opportunities.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Its important to be kind, hardworking and persistent. It is important to be kind because you want to be a pleasure to work with and for. Hardworking as even if you not know the material you are constantly learning new things and persistent in being consistent in doing what you love. To me these are the three things that keep me going!
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents ever did for me was give me the freedom to be myself. My dad especially is a huge advocate for letting children fail and navigate life on their own. I think because of this all my life I’ve never felt like my parents “owed” me anything and work hard to provide for them for the amount they paid in my school fees. My parents even though first generation were amazing in the fact that they gave me the space to fail but are always there to catch if I do. They’ve provided a nest egg that I will bounce out of and thrive! Thank you Mom and Dad!
