We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Empress Giddings a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Empress, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I have a passion for modeling and I keep my passion alive by participating in fashion shows every year.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I have been modeling since the age of 5 and I am turning 15 in the summer. Being on the runway or in front of the camera helps me build my confidence and break out of being shy.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that has impacted my journey is having a positive attitude, always facing my fears, and always enjoying the moment. My advice is to always enjoy the journey of meeting new people and making new friends. Also wearing custom designer clothes is special and an honor to represent people’s art.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My mom is like my manager and also my hairstylist. She has always supports me by making sure I am having fun and not stressing out. She has sacrificed her lifestyle to make sure I attend all the fashion shows/ photoshoots & video shoots to help my career. My dad helps me sell tickets for the show and always comes to see me perform. I feel good and help with my nerves knowing my parents are in the audience supporting me!
