Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Emylee Bogart. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Emylee, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose when I travelled to India at age thirteen. I learned about anti-trafficking of children. I had sisters the ages of the children that ministry leaders talked about; and it hit home. I have continued to fight for the rights of people through various projects including photography, helping pass the Adult Survivors Act and starting a social media page dedicated to educating people about anti-trafficking- Zaraphina House of Hope. In addition, my passion for photography started when I took my first camera to India to photograph the beauty of the country and the people.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a professional photographer and videographer in the Arizona area. I am available to travel to wherever you may be located. I have participated in New York City & Seattle Fashion and Sustainable Fashion Weeks. In addition, I have travelled to over twenty-one countries photographing/video-graphing small businesses, weddings, events, individuals, couples and animals! My goal has always been to have my subject(s) leave happy and believe in their self worth!
So much of our time could be dwelling on how special we are instead of comparing ourselves to others.
“You are worthy! You are loved! You are special.”
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities to have when photographing and video-graphing are empathy, great communication and amazing listening skills: Be empathetic and compassionate to the requests of your clients. Take in the scene and see the vision for their time. Take time to hear the client and to ask questions. Don’t forget clients, to communicate your needs to the photographer/videographer and the other way around.
Videos and photographs turn out incredible when needs and wants are shared!
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The most awesome people that have helped me overcome challenges are my family and friends. They have always been there to run ideas past. In addition, they have invested in my work. Finally, they have been my allies and subjects growing up. We are never done growing up in this world.
Photographers have helped with creative suggestions and settings of the cameras. I am always willing to work with others in and outside of my field! Please contact me with future work in photography and videography! I’m available for Weddings, Events, Small & Large Business Branding, Individual/Couple/Pet Photography!
