We recently connected with Enza Anastasi Sorbara and have shared our conversation below.
Hi ENZA ANASTASI, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I was never good at being a rule follower! Most of my decisions in life were always a gut feeling that came from deep down.
In my opinion taking risks in life is how we grow and learn. I left a job that I loved and paid pretty well but things started to change. I moved from New York to New Milford CT the commute was just too much for me along with some other factors.
I took a big risk moving an hour & 1/2 from most of the venues I worked at. It was definitely scary but I thought I would scale back on the type of events I was accustomed to working on. This never happened…once I took to social media and started getting the word out that I had launched my company, previous clients were reaching out excited to be working with me again.
The scale of events that I thought we would be taking on never really happened! We were full speed ahead doing large scale Weddings & Mitzvahs.
I’m grateful for being a risk taker and not afraid of what the outcome could be. If you truly love what you do it will all be worth it…there is nothing else i’d rather be doing.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
We are full service event design company focusing on Weddings & Mitzvahs. We try and make the design process as easy as possible by offering all decor reflated items for the big day. While florals are our main jam we also offer linens, table top rentals, furniture rentals, day of stationary & signage just to name a few.
We take so much pride in our work strive to create sincere relationships with our clients. My team and I truly love what we do and it always shows.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Learning to pivot and staying on top of industry trends.
Its the most important day of someones life so we need to treat as so.
I started working at a flower shop when I was 13 years old, flowers are my jam!
Keeping a clear mind and realizing that we are designing for our clients not ourselves. Its our job to make their dreams come true as well as guiding them in the right direction for what would work for their budget.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My dad was in the restaurant business and worked his butt off everyday. He taught me that if you want something you work hard for it. There are no hands out in life (well in my life any way lol) but you need to taken chances in order to be successful.
My dad passed away years ago but I wish everyday I could ask him things about business and what he would do.
My mom taught me to be compassionate and fair. I always treat people the way I want to be treated.
