Meet Erica Bogart

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Erica Bogart. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Erica below.

Erica , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I remind myself that every creative journey has its challenges and moments of doubt—mine included! Surrounding myself with a supportive community has been a major factor; sharing my struggles and experience with other professionals reminds me that none of us are alone in our self-doubt and we are all part of this big creative community together and can always learn from one another. So, for me, overcoming imposter syndrome is a continuous practice of self-acceptance of the current season that I am in. I also make a point to celebrate my growth, whether it’s a new skill I’ve mastered or positive feedback from a client.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Hey guys! I am Erica Bogart, an Atlanta-based makeup artist specializing in luxury, soft glam looks that elevate natural beauty. I’ve spent over 20 years in the beauty industry, working across bridal, television, corporate, and commercial clients. My style is focused on creating radiant, glowing skin and looks that enhance each client’s unique features, making them feel like the best version of themselves. I believe beauty should empower, and my goal is to create an experience that feels luxurious and uplifting.

What excites me most about my work is the ability to connect with people on such a personal level. Each client I work with has a unique story, and helping them feel confident and beautiful for their special moments is truly rewarding. I also specialize in all skin-tones, cultural and South Asian weddings, which has allowed me to learn and appreciate various traditions and beauty styles, blending them with my soft glam approach.

Professionally, I’m focused on elevating my brand in the luxury bridal world. I’ve been fortunate to travel both locally and internationally to work with brides at destination weddings, and I’m excited to expand in this area even further. I’ve also started creating custom bridal content and behind-the-scenes services for my clients, capturing those special moments while enhancing their big day.

My passion goes beyond makeup; I’m dedicated to skincare and wellness, which I love sharing with my clients and followers. Right now, I’m focused on creating a blend of beauty, skincare, and wellness content to inspire others to feel their best every day.

Whether it’s a wedding, a photoshoot, or a personal milestone, I’m honored to be part of these moments, helping people look and feel incredible. I look forward to what’s next as I continue to grow my business and connect with even more clients around the world!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities have been especially impactful in my journey: adaptability, communication, and attention to detail. Each has shaped my growth as an artist and entrepreneur, helping me create memorable experiences for my clients and elevate my craft. Ultimately, these skills have allowed me to build a brand centered around quality and client experience.

1. Adaptability: In the beauty industry, trends, client expectations, and even circumstances can shift at a moment’s notice. Being able to adapt has allowed me to work seamlessly in high-pressure environments, whether it’s backstage on set or helping a bride through last-minute changes on her wedding day. My advice for those starting is to remain open to learning, especially from unexpected challenges. Look at every experience as a chance to adapt and grow, knowing that flexibility is a skill that sets you apart.

2. Communication: Clear, timely communication is at the heart of successful client relationships. Understanding a client’s vision, addressing their questions, and providing a quick response time has been invaluable to my career. Working efficiently while still creating a comfortable environment builds a good reputation. There is nothing worse than being the one who is holding up the shoot or event bc you ran over. I’d recommend that beginners focus on honing their listening skills, learning to ask the right questions, and maintaining responsiveness—it’s a blend that clients value and remember.

3. Never stop learning: A continuous learning mindset elevates artistry and keeps my work evolving. My advice is to embrace the mindset that there is always room to grow. Never stop being willing to learn more and seek ways to enhance your craft. Often, the smallest tweaks take a look from good to exceptional.

My advice for anyone starting is to stay committed to developing and perfecting your craft, and focus on what makes you unique, Every experience, big or small, is a step toward becoming the artist and professional you aspire to be.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

One of the biggest challenges I’m currently facing is balancing my time, both personally and professionally. As a business owner, it can be difficult to fully clock out, especially when there’s a constant need to stay visible and consistent on social media. I’m always seeking ways to streamline my processes and deliver consistently without burning out.

To help with this, I’m building a roster of talented artists to help manage my overflow workload, which allows me to continue offering a high level of service.

Another significant challenge is managing client expectations, especially in an age where social media can set unrealistic standards. I talk to my clients about achievable beauty goals while still executing their vision.

With my upcoming new branding and website launch, My goal is to create a seamless client experience from start to finish, with refined systems that make booking, communication, and services as smooth as possible.
