We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Erica Jazmeen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Erica , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose through self-discovery and embracing my unique qualities. At first, modeling was just something I was curious about, but over time, I realized it was a platform for me to express confidence, creativity, and inspire others. Every photoshoot, runway, and collaboration taught me more about myself and how I could use my presence to empower others. My purpose is more than just being in front of a camera—it’s about storytelling, representation, and showing that beauty comes in many forms.

As a model, I see my work as more than just posing for the camera—it’s about storytelling, confidence, and expression. I bring visions to life, whether through fashion, beauty, or creative editorial work. What excites me most is the ability to transform and embody different energies, moods, and aesthetics while inspiring others to embrace their own unique beauty.
Beyond modeling, I view my brand as a space for empowerment and authenticity. I want people to see my journey and feel encouraged to chase their passions fearlessly. Whether it’s through fashion, art, or personal expression, my goal is to make an impact, break barriers, and redefine standards in my own way.
There’s so much to be excited about! I have some upcoming fashion shows and editorial shoots that I can’t wait to share. Each project allows me to push creative boundaries and bring new energy to the industry.
I’m also working on expanding my brand beyond just modeling—collaborating with designers, photographers, and creatives who share my vision. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
For anyone just starting their journey in modeling, my biggest advice is to stay confident, consistent, and always be willing to learn. Developing your craft takes time, so practice posing, study different modeling styles, and find what makes you stand out.
Networking is also key—connect with photographers, designers, and other models who inspire you. Building relationships in the industry can open doors you never expected. And most importantly, believe in yourself! Rejection is part of the process, but every ‘no’ gets you closer to the right opportunity. Stay true to your vision, keep growing, and never stop showing up for yourself
Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
Like any industry, modeling comes with its challenges. One of the biggest is constantly pushing past limitations—whether it’s industry standards, self-doubt, or the pressure to always be ‘on.’ Staying confident and resilient in a competitive space takes work, but I’ve learned that staying true to myself is the key.
Another challenge is balancing the business side of modeling with creativity. It’s important to advocate for yourself and make sure your work aligns with your brand and values. Despite the challenges, I see them as opportunities to grow, evolve, and redefine what success looks like on my own terms
