Meet Erica Morales

We were lucky to catch up with Erica Morales recently and have shared our conversation below.

Erica , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I would have to say, I get my work ethic from both of my parents. They both were extremely hard workers, before retiring. They both continued their education as adults to create a better career path for their future. My father worked 2 jobs for over 30 years to continue to provide and create a better life for his family. My mother was very dedicated to her career as well. Watching my parents work ethic and the values they instilled in me about the importance of work ethic has definitely made me the person I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I own a small beauty bar called Double Polished Beauty Bar. We specialize in manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails, hard gel nails, waxing, lash extensions, specialty facials, lash lifts, brow laminations and lash/brow tinting. Our focus is on our clients and building relationships with them! We love to treat our clients like family and take our time doing the services. We will take great care of your nails and skin and do only what is beneficial for you!

I just opened a new, bigger location and I’m so excited for all our clients and new clients to enjoy the new location! It is full of our signature color Pink 🩷

I work with Brandi Vasquez, she is a manicurist and esthetician as well. She does amazing work! Her nail sets are 🔥.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most important qualities that have been impactful on my journey have been Motivation, Accountability and Customer Relations Communication. I feel these three qualities are very vital to have when becoming a business owner. It definitely takes time to develop and apply these skills. My advice for anyone early in their journey is to focus on what you want to achieve and how you can set your business aside from others in the industry.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Owning your own business can be very overwhelming at times. It can consume all your time and energy. I have learned to take time for myself. When I do get overwhelmed, I step back and take a break because I need to recharge. I will spend time doing what I enjoy and come back refreshed.
