Meet ERICA NEAL

We were lucky to catch up with ERICA NEAL recently and have shared our conversation below.

ERICA, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I developed my confidence and self-esteem through journaling and meditation.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Thank you for having me. My work is rooted in helping people return to themselves through journaling, art, workshops, and intentional products all curated by me. What’s most meaningful to me is watching someone go from overwhelmed or disconnected to grounded and being connected back to themselves. That connection back to self is why I do what I do. This year, I’ve expanding into new offerings, including my upcoming Pre-Vision Board Party workshop, which I’m so excited to share.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Learning how to journal with openness and a willingness to face myself was a skill that helped improve my knowledge of self. Using guided journal prompts helped me to ask the right questions, to dig deeper, and to get the information I needed to let go of the past and move forward with my life.

My advise to anyone early on a similar journey is to remain open and patience with what you are learning about yourself. It is never easy learning new things, especially about yourself. Forgiveness, honesty, and acceptance are your allies on the journey back to self.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My best friend, who is also my husband, has always been a bright light in both my life and my creative journey. He’s truly like my knight in shining armor. He is very protective of me. His scholarly, spiritual, and kind approach helped me develop a deeper awareness of myself and the world around me.

Before I met him, my outlook on life was centered on what others needed only. He was the first person to speak to me in a way that revealed the light already shining within me. He spoke it with such ease, as if he always saw something in me that I was still learning to see in myself.

I will be forever grateful for his unconditional and protective love towards me.
