Meet Erica Seagrave

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Erica Seagrave. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Erica below.

Erica, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?

I was a competitive gymnast when I was younger. When my friends were having fun, I was in the gym working out and training. I had to learn at a very young age to stay focused and disciplined if I wanted to win and perform better than my competitors. This concept has stayed with me in my professional career. Whatever I am doing, I focus, remove destractions, and strive to be the best I can be every single day.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a business consultant and work with business owners who are just starting a business up to multiple years in business. I am very passionate about helping business owners solve problems, and operate their business more effectively and efficiently. I offer consulting and advising guidance based on my 20 years of being a business owner myself.

Before I bring on a new client, I interview them and offer a 45 minute free consultation. I want to make sure I am a good fit for them and they are a good fit for me.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Being true to myself and always practicing my 5 core values; efficiency, caring, freedom, boldness, and accountability.
I lead with my “why” and my purpose. My purpose is to help others and show them that they can achieve success and be happy at the same time.
I am a calculated risk taker. I love challenges and proving to myself that I can accomplish hard things.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

My parents were strict, very supportive, and allowed me to fail. When I did fail, I had to learn how to pick myself up and be resillient. This is why I am successful today in my personal and professional life.
