Erick, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
As a child I was a sheepish kid held my voice with in, had a difficult time trying to express myself with my parent’s sisters and brothers. Threw my schoolbook fairs I discovered art books. I would buy some to read others just to look at illustration render in them. Very intricated images with shading great line work that blew my mind.

I thought to myself who this person was doing such fantastic drawing. In my young mind a burst of energy came within, I remember saying to myself I found a skill I can be good at. This inner voice told me to pick a pencil began to start tracing over the images I have studied admired for so long. this is the time I discovered, my purpose so the love of art initiated.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Threw art I found my voice. My art is hand made with classical style methods. Using clays, hand tools and paints. I use all discipline of art to bring each piece to life. It is a process of forum and anatomy with a fantasy, and sci-fi worlds. Each piece is unique with a world to tell. The combination of colors technics brings a sense of realism to each creation. My studio has provided special effects for abut 17 years now www.imaginerick.com you can view our work in Instagram at @imaginerick for our latest work.

I will be displaying our new collectable artwork in May 31 threw June 2nd at Monsterpalooza held in Pasadena Convention Center I invite all this summer.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Hardwork and dedication to your artwork. For myself I study extensively the human anatomy in books and in class, How the body forums are and function. Nature also was key in my travels I would study, elephants, monkeys, fish etc. The texture of the skin how hair was placed and colors of bugs, insects.

This is a path is about learning of every life forum there is like SeaLife, fish etc. Study people nature dedicate to putting time nourish your skills, like your life depended on it. Patrice every day and repeat.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My family parents and sisters and brothers they installed a work ethic. Seeing the drive to be successful in life for their families. I also read lot of books of self-motivational. Surround yourself with likeminded artists or people. That have knowledge of the craft you are after. Have a network.
