Meet Erin Berry

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erin Berry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Erin, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I’ve always felt like I was here for a reason but it took quite a bit of time to figure out what that was. I am a bit of a seeker and can remember seeking from my late teens on. Anyone who is driven by purpose gets this. Initially I felt all people must surely be in this same boat, but I now understand not everyone is.
My purpose eventually found me. Turns out that although I didn’t realize it, I’ve been working towards that purpose all of my life. Every interaction, every connection and experience was what was needed to live my life on purpose.
I had to have the experiences I was having so I could have a deep embodied experience and understanding of what I was stepping into.
I can look back now and see that there were no mistakes or random incidents, just a really interesting journey to exactly where I find myself today.
How do I know it’s my purpose?
Because of the drive I feel, because I’m so passionate about it and lit up by it. Because I cannot imagine doing anything other than what I do now. For anyone that feels like I did, know you are already on your way. No matter how random things appear everything you are learning and experiencing and the people you meet along the way, lead you to exactly where you are headed. Sometimes it’s hard to see the forrest through the trees. Keep going!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I started my own business 7 years ago as I ended a 20 year relationship and marriage.

Like most entrepreneurs, I am a jack of many trades and my business has morphed quite a bit since then. I guess you could say it’s grown with me. The more I’ve stepped into my purpose, the more I’ve been able to share with my clients.

This is also the time frame that I leaned into deeper relational healing for myself, wanting to understand my contribution in my past connection, and how not to ever repeat it again.
This healing work lead me to understand on a deeper level the self love journey and ultimately what it takes to cultivate healthy connections.

I loved it so much I leaned into studying it to become a certified Love, Sex, Relationship coach where I now help individuals and couples create the healthiest relationships possible.

I consider myself the full life cycle relationship coach because I work on all ares of connection. I help people end relationships that have run their course, heal from those relationships, heal trauma and wounding so they can call in the connections they desire, and work together to cultivate strong relationships. In other words, I meet my clients wherever they are on their relational journey.

Oftentimes the most important work I do with my clients is around self love, self trust, and self honoring. This work is deeply rooted in somatic healing and is all about helping my clients create inner safety and calm nervous systems. Until we do this work, we think the activation we feel is love or normal, but most of the time it’s actually the warning sign of insecure attachment or trauma bonding. The somatic component was, for me, the most important part of my personal healing journey. It took what I was learning from a conceptual idea to an actual experience in my body. I love teaching my clients how to do the same.

I am also an intimacy coach. I always felt there had to be more than what I was experiencing. I desired depth of connection with another but didn’t quite understand how to get there. I had studied the philosophy of Tantra in a yoga teacher training and leaned into studying tantra once I was out of my marriage. I often get asked what Tantra is. It’s become a very overused and abused word. To me tantra is the act of taking something physical and making it spiritual. It’s a devotional practice where you see yourself and the one you are relating with as divine. What I ultimately learned from my studies and experiences was that we must feel emotionally safe to be so open and vulnerable with another. I now teach connection, communication, and other practices that help support teaching couples how to cultivate deep intimacy through creating safety on all levels.

I consider myself the pleasure priestess and I’m here to remind women that pleasure is their birthright. Pleasure doesn’t have to be sexual and we can live from a place of pleasure every single day. We are actually wired for this, but have been taught and told it’s suppose to be hard and not feel good. I’m here to debunk that myth!
I teach women how to reclaim pleasure for themselves so they can experience the most juicy and alive lives possible!

Recently I started a dating group on Facebook called Seeking Soul Level Love. This group is specifically for those ready for soul level partnership and feeling frustrated by the dating scene. It’s a group of growth oriented hetero singles desiring monogamous connection.

Everything I do is a passion project and has a special meaning in my own life. The more I’ve done my work to heal, the more I can’t wait to share and help others do the same. To change the narrative about what we are up to in relationships and how to cultivate the healthiest connections, starting with the ones we have with ourselves. To teach what true intimacy is and how to create it for yourself. A world with more love and pleasure is one I would like to live in!

This is truly my purpose on this planet.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I believe everyone’s journey is a bit different. There really isn’t a right or wrong way to go about it. Anyone telling you there is the way or their way is the best probably has more work to do.

I always say follow your F yeses other wise you will reqret it. Resistance and discomfort are a part of any growth journey. This is how you know your edges.

The top three most impactful practices on my journey:

Somatic Healing…

Just this morning I was speaking about this with a friend. For both of us, it was the somatic work that changed the game. This is also an over used word. What I mean by it is when I leaned into looking at the unintegrated and unhealed parts of myself that were sitting in my body mind. Often times we have these lost pieces running parts of our lives. No one needs an inner child running their relationships or sex lives and yet often times this is exactly what is happening.

Most of us have issues around worthiness. Somatic healing can help us have the lived experience of having worth. In my own experience I needed to feel it in my body. Just changing the script I was running wasn’t enough.

Movement and Embodiment Practices:

Movement, especially dance and yoga are two other pieces that have really helped me a long my path.
Anything to help clear the trauma and stress from my physical body.

Connection and Community:

Connection would be the other piece. Finding the people on the same path who can walk along side you. Finding the communities that lift you up and support you on the path.
It’s one of the reasons I have lead and attend so many retreats.
Like minded reflections are so important. You are not alone on this path and it’s key to be surrounded by those cheering you on.

There are so many great modalities out there. You won’t know whats for you until you try it. You might be surprised by what you discover!

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

The people I work with tend to be up to big things in the world or are wickedly smart and catch themselves saying things such as “I should know better.”

They do know better, but they are still running the old programs or from trauma stuck in the body.

Typically, they have done other work that is either. no longer working, or they are ready for the next level of their growth.

The people I work with know and understand that they are the common denominator in all of their situations and that they are ultimately the only ones that can change it for themselves.

Many for them are ready for the next level of their evolution and growth and are ready to clear the gunk from their body for good. As long as the stress cycles, trauma, and conditioning are sitting in the physical body, no amount of mindset work is going to shift the pattern.

The couples I work with are both enrolled in the connection and desire to take their relationship to the next level. They understand that together they can create whatever it is they desire and are both interested in making that happen.

Finally the couples that enjoy my tantra work have either had chemistry and have lost their connection and are looking for a fun way to get it back, or they want to try something new and fun as a couple, understanding that the sky is the limit around sexuality and pleasure. It’s also a really fun way for newer couples to connect and start off on a strong foundation.

Although I mostly work with relationship to other humans, we are in relationships with life, so often I help people with their careers, purpose, bank accounts, and with their connection to their bodies. It is all connected!
