Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erin Parsley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Erin , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
From the very beginning, I knew I was a dancer. It wasn’t a decision — it was a deep, soul-level knowing. Dance became my first language, a way to express everything I felt but couldn’t always say — joy, sorrow, love, longing.
As life unfolded, so did my purpose. Grief, trauma, and healing pulled me into deeper work. While dance remained my foundation, I felt called to help others reconnect with their own truth — in their bodies, their choices, and their sense of self.
One of the tools I use is Human Design. It’s a personal insight system that combines astrology, the I Ching, chakras, and quantum physics. Based on your birth info, it helps you understand your energy, make better decisions, and see where you’ve been shaped by outside influences.
Whether through movement or deep inner work, my mission is the same: to help people rediscover their natural gifts and live in a way that actually feels like them.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m passionate about two things in my work: helping couples connect through dance, and helping individuals reconnect with themselves through deep self-discovery.
With my first business, Steps to Love® Wedding Dances, I get to work with engaged couples to create a first dance that’s fun, meaningful, and totally their own. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I do — especially when couples tell me their dance was a wedding day highlight and a memory they’ll never forget. That kind of connection? That’s the real magic of dance.
Through Steps to Love®, I offer:
>Private dance lessons tailored to each couple’s vision and comfort level
>Custom choreography for first dances, parent dances, and wedding party routines
>Video tutorials and Zoom lessons for remote or international couples
>Flexible packages, from simple to show-stopping, to match every couple’s needs and timeline
My focus is on connection—not perfection—so each couple feels confident, relaxed, and genuinely excited to dance together in front of their favorite people.
My second business, Erin Parsley Coaching, takes me on a journey with clients around the world through the system of Human Design. I help people understand their unique energetic blueprint—how they’re designed to make decisions, relate to others, and move through life with more clarity and ease.
I offer:
>1-on-1 mentorships via Zoom
>In-depth Human Design readings
>Personalized HD blueprint PDFs
>Custom-designed books that explore each client’s unique design
>A free chart generator for anyone curious to begin their self-discovery
My work is centered around empowering individuals to embark on their own bold journey of self-discovery. By understanding their unique energetic makeup, clients can navigate major life transitions with greater ease, overcome deeply ingrained limiting beliefs, and uncover their inherent gifts. Whether it’s overcoming addiction, finding a fulfilling career path, or healing from past traumas, my goal is to facilitate transformation and growth.
Ultimately, my deepest desire is to inspire and support people in living a life that feels genuinely fulfilling and authentic. By connecting with their inner wisdom and embracing their true nature, my clients can cultivate a sense of peace, purpose, and joy that radiates from within.
In both businesses, my mission is to empower people to connect—whether that’s with a partner on the dance floor or with their deeper self.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three most impactful things in my journey were:
1. Dance and Movement
Dance has always been my anchor. It gave me a way to connect with my body, move through emotions, and get out of my head. It wasn’t about “perfect” steps. It was about freedom, presence, and staying grounded when life got chaotic.
Movement doesn’t have to be fancy to be powerful.
>Take a walk outside.
>Stretch while your coffee brews.
>Put on music and sway in your kitchen.
Moving your body helps you listen to your intuition. It clears mental clutter. It reminds you you’re alive.
2. Spiritual Practice
I’ve always craved a deeper connection to something bigger than myself. Meditation, journaling, and inner child work have been huge tools for healing and growth.
One practice that truly shifted things for me is Human Design.
It’s a self-awareness system that shows you how you’re energetically wired — how to make decisions, relate to others, and stop forcing yourself into roles that don’t fit.
It’s practical, specific, and helps you trust yourself more.
You don’t have to follow any single path. Find what feels honest for you. Let it evolve.
3. Resilience
Life will hand you heartbreak, loss, and setbacks.
Resilience isn’t about pretending everything’s fine. It’s about staying in the game anyway.
I kept going because I committed to myself. Even when it felt hopeless, I decided I was worth the fight.
>I faced the hard stuff.
>I let it break me open.
>I rebuilt stronger.
Resilience is a choice you make again and again, not just once.
Advice for anyone early in their journey:
>Commit to yourself.
Inner work isn’t easy. Neither is ignoring it. At least when you do the work, you get somewhere worth going.
>Find your people.
Get support. Hire a coach, find a mentor, join a community. You don’t have to muscle through everything alone.
>Take care of your body.
Movement, sleep, nourishment — they matter.
Your body isn’t separate from your dreams. It’s the vehicle that carries you there.
No matter what pace you move at, just keep moving.
You’re worth it.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is someone who lights up at the idea of self-discovery — not because they’re trying to “fix” themselves, but because they’re excited to know themselves better and live more fully.
I’m looking for people who are:
>Ready to fall in love with themselves (or just even learn to like themselves)
>Willing to let go of old stories and limiting beliefs that don’t fit anymore
>Excited to discover and share their natural gifts
>Open to understanding how their energy is actually designed to work
>Committed to personal growth — even when it’s messy
>Want to find deeper meaning in life
One of my favorite clients once told me that after months of working together, she finally loved herself — for the first time in 50 years. That’s the kind of transformation that fuels me.
I’m here for the people who are genuinely curious, deeply ready, and willing to build a life that feels good from the inside out — no more living for someone else’s version of “success.”
