We were lucky to catch up with Erin Stoll recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic came from growing up in a home where you learned to work hard for what you want. I also get my work ethic from my determination and drive to chase my dreams. Knowing in my mind that I’ll never give up pushes me to work hard for my dreams.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am an award winning, Nashville recording artist and singer/songwriter from a little town in Ohio. Ever since the age of 9 I KNEW I was destined to be a “rockstar” I would tell my parents regularly that that was my dream! Chasing that dream is what I have done relentlessly over the last 20 years. My music seamlessly blends modern country with a soulful twist and some deem me as the “punk rock of country”. Since childhood, I’ve pursued her dream of Nashville stardom, and since going branching out from bands and doing my own thing as Erin Stoll, I’ve accomplished so much since 2016. This year, im quickly on the rise with my new music released in March, 2024. Known for my vibrant, crowd-pleasing performances, my unique voice and style is certainly one that is instantly recognizable and sought after. In 2016, I recorded my debut EP ‘Unfinished’ in Nashville, produced by Randy Barr, which includes the Best Country Song of 2016 in Ohio, ‘Unfinished’. I recently, released two fresh new country songs “Country Girls (Do It Better)” and “Spread My Wings”, in March of 2024. Produced by world renowned, and platinum winning producer Kenny Royster, Nashville, TN, both songs are on the rise in the country music scene and have hit #1 on several indie charts. I am currently touring both regionally and nationally and can be found interacting with my fans on all social media platforms. I am working hard on new music with my co-writer Caleb Storie, and plan to release 2 new singles end of summer. Look for a full album to be released late this year.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The 3 qualities that I think were most impactful on my journey so far are self-discipline, always being open to learning, and being open to feedback and not caring about what others think if you KNOW in your heart that what you are doing is your dream! If I were to give advice to folks early in their journey, NEVER EVER GIVE UP! EVER! No matter how hard it gets. You must fail a million times to learn and grow and move forward. Failing is part of the journey, but the top of that mountain is worth it all!!!
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me……..listening to AMAZING music growing up. Spinning records, dancing in the kitchen to music with my mom, working on cars in the garage with my dad listening to the BEST music! They really influenced me with so many artists growing up. Their love for GOOD music, was incredibly impactful to me from an early age on!
