Meet Ernesto Ueman

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ernesto Ueman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ernesto , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Certainly finding a purpose in life is not the easiest task. We develop. different interests throughout our lifespan and they all seem to direct us to what we believe our purpose is but as we go along, we find ourselves in a path where obstacles seem to be plain bad luck instead of perceiving them as a lesson to be learned. Lessons that assist us in deciphering the bigger picture. By not accepting these lesson (in the form of failures) we develop calluses in the form of veils…veils that impede us to see beyond mundane realities. We always seem to follow the path of what we want and forget the path of what we truly need. The fact that we follow what the ego dictates leads us into a realm of disappointment. Understanding my true purpose or purposes has been perhaps the greatest challenge in my life.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’ve been a musician practically my entire life. I became interested in learning to play the guitar after my father gave me a Carlos Montoya vinyl for my 15th birthday. I then followed the music string and eventually found myself signed to a label and touring around the world. I grew out of the rock star lifestyle into music. production. Worked on many projects in different genres and learning different aspects of the music industry, but parallel to music I was progressively getting more involved in spiritual activities to the point where I now dedicate much part of my talents to spiritual music and meditation workshops. Plenty of drama in between these sentences but I’ll skip all of that and focus on the relevant points of my career. I’ll skip all the rock star story and focus on the spiritual path that now dictates my purpose in life. Not that I want to forget all those years of s*x drugs and rock’n’roll but I feel the need to elaborate on present experiences, specially that I am experimenting in a different level. of music composition. These past 6 years have been of great spiritual growth, and it all started with a bad ayahuasca trip, so bad that I ended up in the coo coo realm for a few days. But I suppose there is a certain truth to the theoretical possibility that everything happens for a reason. So I ended up meditating in order to reestablish my mental serenity. Now I follow the path of the Buddha. Not that I want to be one but it helps maintain peace within myself and my mundane desires. I now serve different spiritual paths working with organizations that practice and promote human spiritual growth. I am also introducing the crafts of magic and alchemy into the process of music making. I am truly experiencing music in a higher level of consciousness.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The music business is perhaps the hardest field to work in. Everybody wants to be a rock star not realizing how hard it is. I don’t mean hard as in labor but sustaining a career is the hardest part. I’ll use the word “RESILIENCE” to elaborate in this part of the interview. Resilience is perhaps the most useful tool to be applied in this field. It is possible that you won’t completely understand what I mean but if your are to become an initiated soul in the business, I suggest that you understand in depth and learn how and when to be resilient.

Another quality I recommend in the industry regardless of the genre of your preference is to have “FAITH”! Faith I find it to be a peculiar practice given that I believe is not well understood. Faith is a skill that need to be revised. We relate faith to religious practices but I strongly believe its a big mistake. Is faith a skill to be applied in your craft? I believe it is, but it requires wisdom and discipline. Once you understand what it means to have faith your will see how this practice can bring you good luck. Learn your craft well, understand the rules of engagement and learn to apply criteria that leads to a balanced career. DO NOT sacrifice quality time with friends and family, there is plenty of wisdom within nuclear families that help nurture the act of faith.

Perseverance is another practice that i strongly adhere to. Now, it is important not to confuse perseverance with hard work. There will be times where you will have to put more input into your work habits, but never forget you need to maintain an integral lifestyle that involves physical, mental and spiritual health. Keep these factors well taken care of, and your success is already. guaranteed.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
So far, I’ve read a few books this year. Given the circumstance that I am participating in a virtual interview, I will talk about the book that has aligned well with my current lifestyle. It is a compilation of different philosophies and religions; “How to live a good life”, describes the benefits of the most influential philosophies and spiritual paths in the history of humanity. This book I believe lays the foundation that is fundamental in our career practices and it has served as a supplemental guide to understanding the importance of living a healthy spiritual lifestyle.
