Meet Esotera

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Esotera a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Esotera, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Life is full of ups and downs. And it’s important to remember that all life is is and experience we are given to help and love each other. Adversity is the reason life is so rich and full of duality. Remembering this helps me recognize that, even in difficult times, I am protected.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been using my voice to sing. I wasn’t always good. In fact , when I was young, I was not good at singing at all. But I would come home from school and sing karaoke with my dad.

Fast forward, when I was in middle school and high school, I had average grades and I don’t like school at all. But the only thing I like to do was standing the hallways and sing. I would listen to my voice echo down the hallway and this helped me tune my ear over time. I started to learn how to use my voice and eventually started writing my own music.

I started writing music that I felt like I could put on repeat and truly enjoy, as if it was another artists song. I’ve always been the type of person that needed to listen to music no matter what I’m doing. This could be good or bad but it’s always helped me cope with life. Being able to make my own music made me feel like I had something to be proud of.

Currently, I am working on visuals for an EP that will be released soon. I’m so blessed to be able to say that I can do that.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities that have been the most impactful on my journey is being genuine, authentic, and honest. Being authentic and honest when making music is what has helped me connect to all different kinds of people. Realizing that no matter how different we all think we are, we are really all the same. And I want that to be portrayed through my music.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always looking for other artists to collaborate with and write for! I explore all genres and emotions of music. The best way to contact me for collaborative work is through instagram (Esotera.777) or my email : [email protected]
