Meet Estefania Rodriguez

We were lucky to catch up with Estefania Rodriguez recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Estefania, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

Overcoming Imposter syndrome is a constant battle with your ego and the expectations you have of yourself. I often find myself in the midst of wonderful experiences and life changing opportunities that have often felt unreal or even underserved. There is always anxiety that comes with success. I feel like everyone tends to feel the pressure of not being able to reach or go above their personal expectations of themselves. Whether is being a role model, a leader or even a trusted advisor for your peers there is always going to be a feeling of doubt within you about being deserving of great things. It takes work accepting that you’re exactly where you need to be. I’ve come to learn that practicing mindfulness and allowing yourself to become emotionally mature helps you understand why you feel like a stranger to your success. It helps you heal yourself into loving every step you had to take to achieve your goals.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I run Brewbles Studio, a lifestyle and personal care brand created in Austin, Texas. We are Inspired by cultura, nostalgia y recuerdos de nuestra niñez, Brewbles is conjuring up magical bath concoctions to evoke alivio and relaxation for your everyday self-care rituals.

In the past 6 months I’ve been focusing on rebranding and creating a healing digital space that can help create a community with mental health support, self-care tips and tricks and helping others create their own version of a healthy mindful view on life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three things I believe were the hardest for my development where: scheduling, compensating myself, and allowing myself to rest.

At the beginning of Brewbles Studio I had a vision that was not organized as I began taking the come up as it went. As the company grew I realized I was exhausting myself and taking on multiple projects which did not allow me time to rest and recharge. I often found myself burned out trying to take advantage of the demand we were getting. more often than not, I’d would go to classes, work my day job and stay up all night fulfilling orders. I realized my lack of formula to keep me organized was not working. I also saw myself feeling guilty of paying myself instead of helping the company get ahead.
I knew I had to make some changes and so I decided to take a short hiatus to really figure out what I could do to help me be more organized and proactive while still allowing myself to rest and recuperate the funds I put in.
Although some business start as hobbies without the intention of being a full livelihood, it super important to know when to pause and create a plan for yourself so it doesn’t catch up to you and overwhelms you.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

As Brewbles Studio grows I would like to collaborate with more POC, latine and queer creators. I believe it’s important that we keep harboring safe spaces for underrepresented communities to keep breaking the mental health stigma. As well as open up more conversations about what real self care looks like.

Ignoring the Naysayers

Almost everything that’s changed the world in a positive way has been an unreasonable idea.

What were the conditions that allowed you to develop your empathy?
