Meet Esther Levy-Bremer

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Esther Levy-Bremer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Esther, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

To be honest, finding my purpose was a complete shock, mostly because I used to think acupuncture was voodoo! I had actually planned on becoming a Western physician.
In my teens, I was a professional fencer practicing for hours every day, but my body eventually broke down. I developed chronic muscle pain and severe fatigue. I felt like I lost five years of my life bouncing between specialists. Despite all their advanced technology, no one could explain what was wrong.
Out of desperation, I tried acupuncture. After just a few treatments, I felt significantly better. I couldn’t understand how a few needles succeeded where Western medicine had failed. The joke was definitely on me. I realized I had to understand how this medicine worked, so I put my name down for acupuncture school the very next day. I’ve been in practice since 2006, and I haven’t looked back.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I focus on helping women break the cycle of chronic pain and fatigue. Whether that stems from stress, injury, digestive issues, or hormonal shifts like menopause. While my primary tool is acupuncture, I believe true healing happens when we look at the whole picture.
What makes my practice special is that I don’t just treat symptoms; I act as a partner in my patients’ lifestyle. I integrate nutritional guidance and self-care strategies alongside the acupuncture and Chinese herbs. I want to teach my patients how to fuel their bodies and manage their energy so they don’t just feel better in my clinic – they feel better in their daily lives.
What excites me most is seeing a patient move from a state of exhaustion or chronic pain to a place of empowerment. There is nothing better than watching someone realize they have the tools to heal themselves and get their vitality back.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Holistic Learning: Just as Chinese Medicine views the body as an interconnected whole, I believe knowledge should be viewed the same way. I make a point to learn from the best, not just in my field, but in completely unrelated industries. When you aren’t afraid to look outside your ‘lane,’ you start to see how everything eventually connects.
2. Deep Listening & Spiritual Practice: I learned the art of listening from my parents, and I refine it every day through prayer, meditation, and a daily gratitude practice. These habits ground me, allowing me to truly hear my patients – not just their words, but their body and energy.
3. A ‘Beginner’s Mind’: I take a new course every year and read constantly because I believe everything – and everyone – can be a teacher. My students, my patients, my friends, and even my children are constantly teaching me.
My advice to those starting out? Always remain humble. The moment you think you know everything is the moment you stop growing. Stay open, stay curious, and know that there is always something or someone that can help you reach a higher level of understanding.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is someone who is ready to be an active participant in their own healing. I don’t view acupuncture as a magic switch that I flip while the patient lies passive; I view it as a partnership.

Typically, I work with women who are the ‘caretakers of their world’; Professionals, mothers, and leaders who have poured so much into others that their own batteries have run dry. They often come to me with chronic pain, migraines, or hormonal imbalances, but deep down, they know the root cause is a loss of balance.

The patients who get the most miraculous results in my clinic are the ones who are open-minded. They are willing to look at their nutrition, adjust their daily habits, and do the ‘homework’ of self-care. They aren’t looking for a temporary band-aid; they are looking for a guide to help them reclaim their vitality for the long term.
