Meet Esther Ruggles

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Esther Ruggles. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Esther, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I think being bullied as a child & adult really taught me how to be resilient.
I developed a pretty thick skin.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

In my professional career I am most focused on my medical massage practice and building momentum as well as creating more engaging content. Every person reading this has a body and could benefit from my services. People who can’t afford my services can follow my content and do their at home care at no cost to them.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three things that were most impactful for my entrepreneurial journey are:
1) following people on similar journeys, following people who are more successful than I am and listening to their advice.
2) skills I’ve built as a massage therapist and developing/perfecting those skills.
3) knowledge of all my past employment, education and acquired skills/abilities throughout the years and implementing those into the business practices.

My advice for those who are early in their journeys as far as developing and improving: don’t compare your day 13 or day 191 to someone else’s day 3555. Look up to those who are doing what you want to be doing. Give yourself a break when you fail, because you will fail. And never give up, just keep going. Some of the people who you would expect to support you won’t and some other people you just met will be your biggest supporters.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When I start to feel overwhelmed in business, I always go outside and take a walk, go for a bike ride or take the kayak out for an adventure. My outside time are some of the most impactful and clarifying moments I’ve had on the journey.
