Meet Ethan Becker

We were lucky to catch up with Ethan Becker recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Ethan with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I definitely get my work ethics from all my family members. My family members are very hard workers and taught me that nothing comes for free. My dad made me get my first job when I was in high school and got my first car. I had to pay for my own gas and food when I went out with my friends.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Ethan and I graduated CSUN (California State University Northridge) with a degree in Urban Studies and Planning. I have always loved cities and watching new things get built. I have also always loved theme parks. I have been going to Disney since I was a child and as I grew up I ventured out to the other theme parks as well.

I have my own brand called Theme Park Wizard. It consists of a Youtube channel and a shop, themeparkwizard.shop, with new and exciting merchandise themed to the Youtube channel. On my channel I document the latest news and events of Southern California and Florida theme parks. I also document the construction of new lands and attractions such as Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood opening February 17th and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disneyland opening January 27th. Across the country I am documenting the ongoing construction of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe which is set to open in the Summer of 2025 and feature its own larger Super Nintendo World and possibly lands themed to the Wizarding World, Universal’s Classic Monsters, and How To Train Your Dragon.

I have an absolute blast filming these videos and it really is what I want my eventual career path to be. I have major plans for expansion of the brand including an animated series and my own wine. I have made so many friends in the theme park community I have been very grateful for this experience so far and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities I believe were most impactful on my journey so far are patience, persistence, and work ethic. It has taken me four years to get my channel to where it is right now and that requires a lot of patience. Trust me, it was very frustrating at times because I wanted to grow faster than I was at the time. That leads to the second quality which is persistence. DON’T GIVE UP! Believe in yourself and your product or business and you will succeed in the long run. In order to succeed and do well you also have to have a great work ethic. Do not cut corners, always aim to improve your product and put out the best quality of anything.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was give me great advice and put me through college. They always made sure I was studying well and got A’s and B’s in school. They always pushed me to be the best person I could be and I really appreciate them for that.
