We were lucky to catch up with Eugene ( V.I.P ) Weems recently and have shared our conversation below.
Eugene ( V.I.P ) , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Eugene Weems is the “King Of The Streets (K.O.T.S.) Underground Fight Club Heavyweight World Champion!” My resilience and motivation comes from my Grandmother Aldine Weems who raised me to be the man that I am today, a leader who leads by example with strict morals and values. She taught me that Drive, Determination and Persistence does not recognize Failure. I was brought up to put God first and to believe in myself. I don’t allow others’ belief systems to dictate my abilities to achieve my desired goals or impede on my success. I’m a realist, I believe in facts not cliches. When I mentor people I pass on the same beliefs that my grandmother instilled in me.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My advice to anyone who has a dream, who has a goal or a desire to do something positive.in life. Is to first start believing in self. You, yourself is the key to your success. Never allow anyone to tell you what is impossible and the limitations of your abilities, because any every thing is possible. Always remember this; Drive, Determination and Persistence Does Not Recognize Failure. if you keep that in mind and put in the work you will hit your target. You will reach your goals.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Myself, once I got out my own way and stop allowing others to rent space in my mind with negativity and doubt and start believing in self. And refused to take on others problems. i was able to overcome what ever came my way. i set out to achieve a goal and refuse to allow anything or anyone to deter me from my objectives. You hold the key to your success.
