Meet Eunice Elliott

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eunice Elliott. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Eunice, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
My mom gave me and my siblings the gift of confidence and self-esteem. She empowered us to share our ideas and communicate our interests and talents that have served me throughout my life and career. She taught us to never compare ourselves or our life experiences to anyone else. Comparison is truly the thief of joy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m approaching one year since I made the leap to move to Los Angeles to further pursue my comedy and acting career. Although I’ve been doing comedy for 15 years this first year of performing with some of the top names in a place like Los Angeles has been sobering and encouraging. I’ve been blessed to be able to hit some of the biggest stages out here like The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, and The Improv, and am excited about a lot more opportunities.

I love storytelling through various mediums, and whether it’s on the stage or through a script I’ve written, I’m inspired to share the stories that we don’t always get to see on the small and big screens.

Social media is a wonderful tool to build a fan base and encourage, entertain and inspire your audience right in the palm of their hands, so I’m looking forward to doing more online to increase my reach and share the stories I’m passionate about.

I also launched a new podcast called, “Done There, Been That” with my long-time friend Mike Hill where we discuss sports stories in a way that most of our audiences can relate to. It’s been a fun new adventure and we look forward to growing that podcast into other projects.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Self-awareness is key. That can include understanding your strengths and weaknesses. I know what I’m great at doing and I also know what I’m not great at…sometimes just because I don’t enjoy it.

Focus and intention are so important especially as you’re looking to build your personal and professional brand.

Also being open to everything and attached to nothing is a healthy way to pursue your dreams. Sometimes it won’t look like anything you’ve ever thought of, but may be exactly the thing you need to do!

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The Alchemist. The story is about a young man on a journey to find great treasure, but what you learn by the end of the story, the journey itself is the treasure. This is a wonderful lesson in life as oftentimes we’re seeking or searching for something that we don’t see right in front of us at the moment. Unfortunately, this causes a lot of us to miss the gift of NOW because we’re always looking at what’s next. Although you can have plans for the future, it’s important not to miss the present moment as none of us are promised tomorrow.
