We recently connected with Eve Alas Morán and have shared our conversation below.
Eve, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
For me, keeping creativity alive isn’t a passive act; it’s an active, ongoing pursuit fueled by discipline, diverse experiences, and an insatiable curiosity for learning. My journey, from when I started my studies in violin at four years old in El Salvador to becoming a Panamerican Champion in rhythmic gymnastics, instilled an unwavering dedication. This same discipline was applied to my ballet training and continues in my work as an actor, singer, and producer. The blend of demanding physical training and professional artistic experiences informs my approach to storytelling and expression across all forms of media.
My creativity thrives on continuous learning and embracing new challenges. Fluency in multiple languages—Spanish, English, French, with German and Italian in development—significantly broadens my perspective, directly inspiring my music, like my bilingual single “Running Back to You.” Academically, my BFA in Dance and recent MFA from the New York Film Academy have provided a rich environment for artistic exploration. These experiences pushed me to co-write and produce short films like “Ca-3N” and “Not by Choice,” and produce international music videos, actively seeking new ways for creative expression.
Ultimately, I keep my creativity alive by constantly expanding and challenging my own artistic boundaries. It’s about staying present, observing the world, and allowing every experience—from the intensity of a film set to the joy of connecting with an audience through music—to feed my artistic vision. For me, creativity is not something that can be kept alive; it’s something that is constantly being made alive through hard work, discipline, and an unyielding passion for telling stories.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Thank you to Bold Journey for allowing me this opportunity and connect with your readers! My name is Eve Alas Morán, and my professional focus is deeply rooted in a multifaceted artistic career. I’m an actor, singer, songwriter, violinist, dancer, screenwriter, and film producer, editor, and former national athlete driven by a passion for storytelling across all mediums.
What excites me most is the synergy between my diverse artistic disciplines. My background as an ex-national rhythmic gymnast and professional ballet dancer instills a unique physical language in my acting and informs my songwriting. My ability to speak multiple languages—Spanish, English, French, and developing German and Italian—also enriches my creative well, allowing me to explore narratives and connect with audiences globally. This blend of rigorous training and boundless creativity is the essence of my brand.
Looking ahead, there’s a lot to share. Musically, after releasing four singles such as “Running Back to You” and “Leaving New York” (all on my VEVO channel @evealasmoranVEVO), I’m thrilled to announce my next single, a Latin-style track, coming out this summer. In film, I’ve produced two short films, “Ca-3N” (sci-fi, showcasing my stunt skills) and “Not by Choice” (drama), both now headed to festivals. I also recently produced the international music video “El Camino,” filmed in Los Angeles and El Salvador. I’m incredibly excited to announce I’m part of BGM Film LLC, a new film production company founded with CEO Gabriele M Bussetti and CTO Abhinav Joshi. As COO, producer, and actress for the company, I’m thrilled about this new journey and the opportunity to bring even more captivating stories to life. And on May 2nd, 2025, I proudly graduated with my Master of Fine Arts from the New York Film Academy, further solidifying my commitment to this exciting journey.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, there are three core qualities that have been most impactful in my journey: discipline, multidisciplinary curiosity, and a proactive growth mindset. My background, from national rhythmic gymnastics and ballet dancer to mastering multiple languages and artistic skills, taught me the deep commitment needed for success. This has allowed me to consistently push boundaries as an artist.
My multidisciplinary curiosity drives me to explore diverse forms of expression, from songwriting and singing to acting and film production. This blending of skills, like using my physical training as a dancer an athlete to inform acting or leveraging language skills in songwriting, creates a unique approach to storytelling. It’s about finding connections among the different fields and allowing them to enrich each other.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to cultivate a core of values that work for you and setting consistent, small goals. Embrace multidisciplinary exploration by trying new skills and seeking collaborations; diverse experiences foster unique perspectives. Finally, maintain a proactive growth mindset by constantly seeking knowledge and welcoming feedback, as continuous learning is key to evolution in any field.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
When I look back at who has been most instrumental in helping me overcome challenges and develop the essential skills, qualities, and knowledge for success, my family stands out as the primary foundation.
My parents, Walter Alas Ruíz and Evelin Morán de Alas, provided a holistic and constant support system. My father meticulously nurtured my artistic development and athletic training, ensuring I had every opportunity to excel in music and gymnastics from a very young age. Simultaneously, my mother dedicated herself to my academic growth, overseeing my education, my language studies, and a deep understanding of subjects that helped my artistic and academic areas. Together, they equipped me with the foundational tools and comprehensive education that made me knowledgeable across every area of my diverse pursuits.
Beyond their initial guidance, my siblings continue to be a crucial force in challenging and refining my artistry. My brother, Efraín Alas Morán, has been an unwavering pillar of support, guiding my career decisions alongside my parents. My sister, Sofía Alas Morán, constantly pushes me to evolve in the digital landscape, teaching me invaluable lessons about social media branding and how to effectively present my image in the industry. Her insights have truly transformed my professional presence and career trajectory. My younger sibling, Gabriel Alas Morán, with his youthful yet profound understanding of music, offers perspectives that consistently challenge me to reinvent and elevate my artistry.
Additionally, the collaborative environments I’ve been fortunate to be a part of have been transformative. The talented musicians at Genuino Estudio, producer Tito Martínez alongside my composer, Walter Alas Ruíz, the director of all my projects so far and CEO of BGM Film LLC, Gabriele M Bussetti, and every single crew member I’ve worked with, have consistently empowered me to elevate my artistic journey and career to new heights.
