We recently connected with Eve Jean and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Eve , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
After Two decades of working in several different fields , to starting my hospitality business in Miami Fl which took off better than expected and became very profitable. Several years later after dealing with a traumatic life altering moment the business came to a halt . Two years later while trying to find myself and becoming me again I thought of going back to school for several things that peaked my interest . I was always into skincare so I started going to esthetician school got my paramedical lisence and worked at a very prestigious spa in Royal palm beach fl . Fast forward I moved to NYC , purchased our home which was a fixer upper so during the construction process and also the renovating I fell in love with the entire reno , new build and design process. I always had a love for Interior Design since I was a kid but never thought of it as a career or even turning it into a business . My home took almost two plus years to complete I didn’t realize my talent until neighbors started knocking an asking who did the design or even when I had company they would ask the same. It peeked my interest so I started to look into and doing my researched I realized this was an actual career and fit exactly was I was looking for . In 2019 Style My Space was born , in 2020 I got my first paying client which happen to be a huge commercial project in the industrial area of Brooklyn for Watkins Poulty . After seeing my capabilities on that project 10+ projects later I’m working on my biggest project to date for the Ritz Carlton . I have found my purpose and love what I do especially helping the amazing clients I get to meet being an Interior Designer

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m an interior designer and a woman in construction. The most special thing for me in my career is curating spaces for my clients that help them live their best live possible, or curating a profitable space for a business, making it feel welcoming to their patrons. Once the project is done, the gratitude and happiness on my client’s faces is what makes me fulfilled.

Right now, I’m working on expanding Style My Space Inc as a brand, I aim to be featured on TV or commercials, talking about designs. I am also planning on launching a candle line and an accessory line.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience, Patience and Grit. I always tell everyone that no matter what career path they choose, always remember that your network is your net worth. Build a network, build authentic relationships, then the money will follow. Keep learning and never stop, find your niche, stick to it, work on it and find the right client that fits that niche.

Keep your eyes focused on you and your results and don’t compare yourself. You’ll never know how many years it took for someone to be where they are and how far they came from just to get there.

Find a mentor and surround yourself with like minded individuals, it is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, I would love to collaborate with brands both for lifestyle and design. I would love to partner with developers on their commercial projects and hospitality spaces. I would love to collaborate with different media outlets in order to expand my brand.
