We were lucky to catch up with Evonne Muoneke, MHA recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Evonne, thank you for joining us today and sharing your experiences and acquired wisdom with us. Burnout is a huge topic these days and so we’d love to kick things off by discussing your thoughts on overcoming or avoiding burnout
Burnout is tricky because we often don’t recognize how depleted we are until we’re already running on empty. While work-related burnout gets the most attention, it can show up just as powerfully in relationships, caregiving or parenting, finances, school, or even the pace of everyday life.
I’ve learned to navigate burnout by prioritizing nervous system regulation—every single day. No matter how busy things feel, I make space for something that brings my body and mind back into calm. That might be a quiet walk with my dog, a restorative yoga class, or simply listening closely to what I need in that moment and honoring it.
This daily commitment to slowing down creates room for self-compassion—acknowledging that burnout happens—and for realignment. It’s a reminder that it’s okay to change course, soften expectations, and choose a path that better supports how you actually feel, not how you think you should feel.
Finding deep rest through restorative yoga became my most powerful tool for healing burnout, and it’s what ultimately inspired me to open Alchemy Restorative Yoga Sanctuary. We focus on yoga that is truly relaxing—intentionally curating experiences that support nervous system regulation, rest, and reconnection.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Navigating burnout through restorative yoga was the catalyst for opening Alchemy Restorative Yoga Sanctuary. What feels most exciting—and truly special—about this work is that every experience is designed entirely around the individual. Nothing is one-size-fits-all. Each session is intentionally curated to meet clients exactly where they are, supporting rest, regulation, and genuine reconnection with the body.
Alchemy Restorative Yoga Sanctuary is a private yoga studio specializing in Restorative and adaptive yoga practices that promote deep rest, healing, and mind–body connection. Our offerings provide a highly personalized approach to physical ease, mental clarity, and nervous system regulation, creating space for sustainable wellbeing rather than quick fixes.
The Sanctuary was founded from a desire to expand the ways in which Evonne Muoneke could make a meaningful public health impact. Drawing on her background in health systems leadership and administration, combined with her training as a certified yoga instructor, she integrates evidence-informed care with intentional movement and rest. This unique blend allows Alchemy Restorative Yoga to offer accessible, innovative pathways for supporting both mental health and physical wellbeing.
Today, Alchemy Restorative Yoga Sanctuary is emerging as a top-rated adaptive yoga studio in Austin, Texas—recognized for its thoughtful, inclusive, and deeply personalized healing experiences that redefine what yoga can feel like.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three qualities have been especially impactful in my journey: adaptability, self-prioritization, and a commitment to continuous learning.
First, flexibility. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that the only constant is change. Goals evolve, circumstances shift, and what once felt aligned may no longer serve you. Giving yourself permission to change direction—to say “I’ve changed my mind” or “my desires have shifted”—is not a failure, it’s growth. For those early in their journey, my advice is to stay curious and responsive rather than rigid. Trust that course corrections are part of building something sustainable.
Second, prioritizing “me-time.” Burnout often stems from neglecting the basics of care and restoration. Making time each day to do something that genuinely fills your cup—whether that’s rest, movement, time outdoors, or quiet reflection—helps regulate the nervous system and creates resilience. My advice is to treat this time as non-negotiable. When you take care of yourself consistently, everything else becomes more manageable.
Lastly, a commitment to learning. Remaining open to growth—through formal education, lived experience, and the wisdom of others—has been essential. Some of the most meaningful lessons come from listening deeply to people at all stages of life and experience. For those just starting out, seek opportunities to learn everywhere, stay humble, and remember that growth often happens through connection and shared understanding.

How would you describe your ideal client?
Everybody—and every body—is welcome at Alchemy Restorative Yoga Sanctuary. Our ideal clients are those seeking a practice that is intentionally designed around their unique needs, offering space to release tension, find ease, and leave feeling genuinely restored in both body and mind.
We often work with busy parents, burnt-out professionals, individuals navigating surgery recovery or injury rehabilitation, expecting and new parents, older adults, and anyone looking for a more supportive, personalized approach to movement and rest. What they share in common is a desire for care that feels thoughtful, adaptive, and aligned with where they are in life.
Our private and semi-private offerings span restorative yoga, yin, sound bath meditation, gentle flow, deep stretch, chair yoga, and pre- and post-natal practices. While relaxation is at the heart of our work, we also support clients in building flexibility, mobility, balance, and strength—often in collaboration with medical providers—to create sustainable, whole-person wellness plans.
