Meet Eyezc Haze

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eyezc Haze. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eyezc below.

Eyezc, so happy to have you with us today. You are such a creative person, but have you ever had any sort of creativity block along the way? If so, can you talk to us about how you overcame or beat it?

The best way for me to overcome writers block is to get out and live life. A lot of my inspirations comes from the life I live so if I feel like I’m in a rut I just go live and do things in life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m more than just a musician. My recent interviews, my creative identity spans music, sound design, visuals, storytelling, and even aspects of fashion and aesthetics. I work with a do-it-yourself / independent-artist philosophy — and builds “universe” around his projects rather than fitting into someone else’s mold.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Creative Versatility & Curiosity

From early on, I never boxed myself into one lane. I learned piano, taught myself production, experimented with sound design, and later dove into visuals, aesthetics, and world-building. That versatility became my biggest strength — I didn’t have to wait on anyone to create the world I saw in my head.

Advice:
• Try everything. Don’t worry about being perfect — worry about being curious.
• Build the skill of “figuring it out.” Watch tutorials, experiment, listen critically, fail, redo.
• The more skills you collect, the more freedom you have as an artist.

2. Authentic Storytelling & Place-Based Identity

My voice, my sound, and my world come from lived experience — from the South, from the culture, from movement, from the real-life texture around me. Relocating to New Orleans magnified that. I learned that being grounded in who you are hits harder than trying to sound like anything trending.

Advice:
• Know your story — what made you, what you’ve seen, what you represent.
• Don’t run from your roots. Use them as creative fuel.
• Let where you’re from and where you’re going shape your sound, not social media.

3. Independence & Self-Driven Work Ethic

I’ve always been hands-on. If I wanted something done, I learned how to do it myself. That independence allowed me to build a brand that’s not watered down by outside demands or shortcuts. It forced me to grow, to stay disciplined, to make my own lane.

Advice:
• Don’t wait for permission — build with what you have.
• Practice consistency more than perfection. One hour a day compounds into mastery.
• Focus on ownership: your masters, your publishing, your creative direction. It pays off long-term.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
