Meet Ezra Gilmore

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ezra Gilmore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Ezra , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

My grandfather who recently passed away always told me if I’m blessed enough to receive blessings; I should be a blessing and bless others.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m Ezra Gilmore – a singer and actor from the San Francisco Bay Area who now lives in Miami Florida. I first rose to fame as a member of the international boy band Menudo, revived by Mario Lopez, where I made history as the first Afro-Latino to join the iconic group. With my love for performing, I’ve always aimed to bring charisma, vocal power, and authentic energy to every stage I step on; and I’m so grateful to have connected with fans all around the world.

Now, as I step forward as a solo artist and a rising actor, I’m focused on creating my own sound and style – bringing fresh music, real stories, and dynamic performances to every project I take on.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three things that have really shaped my journey are being able to create/write my own music, my love of reading, and expressing myself through singing.

Writing and creating my own music taught me how to turn my experiences into something real – something that connects with people. Reading has always fueled my creativity and helped me see the world in new ways, which inspires the stories I want to tell through my art. And singing has been my truest form of expression; it’s where I feel most free and most myself.

My advice for anyone just starting out is this: follow your passion, and don’t stop. There will be moments when you need to pause, take a breath, or regroup and that’s okay. But always come back to what you love. Keep moving forward, even if it’s one small step at a time. Your consistency and heart will carry you through.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

If I knew I only had a decade left to live, I would travel around the world and experience as many cultures as I could. I’ve always believed that seeing how other people live, work, and connect gives you a deeper appreciation for life and broadens your perspective. I’d want to spend time learning languages, trying local foods, and volunteering along the way; really immersing myself in different communities. I think that kind of experience helps you grow personally and professionally, and it reminds you to value people and moments over things.
