Meet F F

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to F F. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

F, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

In the age of AI models, programs, bot, and even camera features; I think it is important to not come back to basics but to also think about why did I decide to pick up art (specifically photography) in the first place? And the answer is that like all art it is another medium for human input, for expression, communications, identity, culture, for the human experience, and that something no machine ever conceived could ever do.. Even creating mere snapshots has more of radiance and life to it to whatever generative image a computer can make. I truly believe that creating art just to create art has more significance and soul then long winded prompt and thus I also believe there need be more artist both novel and amateur need be willing to not only create art but to create without the resitictions of feeling you have follow a certain style, trend, or rules that dictate what qualifies good art. In the end you should just get out there just shoot or create art you find fit. I think the modern art world in modern age is the unique flair self identity and expression that were common in the past. An example that comes to mind is Robert Franks street photography and using his shadow to self insert myself into work.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I started photographing around highschool, and at that time I was taking snapshots, not really putting much thought behind the finally output, when I did put some thought behind the photos I was taking, there were some that really stood to me to want to explore photography as an art form, I wanted to know and explore how use photography as a way of self expression and communication, thus being an artistic journey of photographing my surroundings and events that would happen to me. I was always chasing intention and my own view and perspective on moments forever captured on a photograph

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three qualities I think any artisit/photographer needs that helped me in my journey and really helped me in my journey, is being willing to be open minded to experimenting and trying new things. I feel like that by trying new things is the only way an individual develops and changes their work over time.

Another would be consistency, more so the willingness to always create, to put it simple you can’t call yourself an artist if you not creating art actively and instinctively make art

The third quality and I think the most important is to enjoy what you are doing and the art you create if you are not having while creating then you won’t create meaningful pieces of work that come from the heart and soul.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

I think the biggest obstacle any artist face in todays day and age is the many deterrents that discourages artist to create in the first place. From soulless AI slop being cranked out in record times to algorithms prioritizing profits over meaning and passion. I can understand why so many (including me at times). But knowing that the art I create whether the piece of work is suppose to be seriously or not, I know that my work has more life and flair than what any other slop content or computer made art could ever have, and that alone is what keeps me going knowing that my work is REAL and that what I am doing is REAL is very important to keep in mind while being a artist because at the end of the day I can truly call myself an artist because I put REAL passion and love behind my work.
