Meet Fa-Harra Farmer

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Fa-Harra Farmer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Fa-Harra, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Even though my mother passed away in 2009, her influence on my work ethic continues to shine brightly in my life. She was the hardest worker I’ve ever known, and her memory lives on through the lessons she taught me. Growing up, she shared valuable quotes that still resonate with me to this day, guiding me through both the good and challenging times.

Her words and actions made a lasting impact. As I’ve grown, I’ve come to understand the depth of her wisdom, and it’s like she’s still with me, giving me guidance from beyond. Her spirit of dedication and perseverance fuels my drive to give my best in everything I do.

I always hold the memories of her strength and determination, cherishing the moments we had together. She instilled in me a belief in myself and the value of hard work, which continues to shape my character and approach to life.

Though she’s no longer physically present, I carry her legacy in my heart, and it’s what pushes me forward every day. I honor her memory by striving for excellence and never giving up, just like she taught me. Her influence on my work ethic is timeless, and I am forever grateful for the precious gift of her love and teachings.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The top three qualities that I firmly believe in is the Want for something, having a clear Vision, and setting Goals. These qualities plays a crucial role in guiding us towards success and the things we want out of this life.

Having a Vision is essential for success. A vision is about imagining and planning the future with wisdom and creativity. It helps us understand where we want to go and what we want to achieve. A clear vision acts as our guide, keeping us on track and helping us make informed decisions as we pursue our dreams.

Sometimes, we may encounter skeptics or people who doubt our ideas. In those moments, it’s crucial to believe in our vision. We shouldn’t let anyone make us feel that our ideas are foolish or unachievable. If we can picture it in our minds, we can make it happen. Believing in our vision gives us the confidence to keep going, even when faced with challenges or setbacks.

Having a strong desire or “Want”, is the initial spark that ignites the journey towards achieving our dreams. It’s that inner drive and passion that compels us to take action and strive for something meaningful. When we truly want something, we become committed to making it a reality, no matter the challenges that come our way. This desire acts as a powerful motivator, moving us forward and keeping us focused on our aspirations.

Setting meaningful Goals is a vital step towards success. Goals are all the things you want to accomplish in your life. They help us break down our vision into manageable steps and provide us with a roadmap to follow. When we set clear and achievable goals, they serve as milestones, marking our progress and motivating us to keep moving forward.

I don’t necessarily like give advice, but I do give my opinion.

I believe wholeheartedly embracing these qualities, we embark on a transformative journey, guided by purpose and driven towards the realization of our dreams.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My life has been profoundly influenced by three exceptional individuals: my late mother, Alberta Gore, and my mentors, John E. Eskridge and Stanley (Cam) Campbell. Each of them has left an indelible mark on my journey, shaping the person I am today and providing me with invaluable tools and knowledge that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

First and foremost, my mother, Alberta Gore, was my pillar of strength and unwavering support throughout my life. Her love, guidance, and selfless dedication were a constant source of inspiration for me. She instilled in me the values of hard work, perseverance, and kindness, and her belief in my abilities gave me the courage to pursue my dreams.

John E. Eskridge and Stanley (Cam) Campbell have been instrumental mentors in my life. While John E. Eskridge’s legacy lives on through the lessons he shared, I am grateful to have Stanley (Cam) Campbell still actively shaping my life with his knowledge and guidance. Both of them have enriched my professional growth and nurtured my personal development. From them, I have learned the art of problem-solving, effective communication, and the significance of continuous learning. They have challenged me to expand my horizons, to embrace innovation, and to remain resilient in the face of adversity. Though Alberta Gore and John E. Eskridge are no longer physically present, their impact on my life endures. The lessons they imparted have shaped my mindset and approach to life. They have left a lasting legacy, not only in the knowledge they shared but also in the way they lived their lives with purpose, integrity, and a passion for helping others.

I am eternally grateful to have had such incredible individuals in my life. Alongside Stanley (Cam) Campbell, my family, the McCrackins, and close friends, they form a circle of love and support that has empowered me to overcome obstacles and embrace opportunities. Their presence has been a constant reminder that I am not alone in my journey and that success is a collective effort. The profound impact of these remarkable individuals extends beyond myself. The wisdom I have gained from them has been passed down to my children, enriching their lives with valuable lessons and insights. Through their influence, I aspire to be a source of inspiration and guidance for the next generation, paying forward the immeasurable gifts I have received. In conclusion, the presence and guidance of my mother, Alberta Gore, and my mentors, John E. Eskridge, and Stanley (Cam) Campbell, have been instrumental in shaping the person I am today. Their love, support, and teachings have laid the foundation for a purposeful and fulfilling life. Their legacy lives on through me, and I am committed to carrying their lessons with me on my journey, while also cherishing the guidance and wisdom that Stanley (Cam) Campbell continues to share with me today.
