We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Fa-Harra Farmer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Fa-Harra, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I keep my creativity alive by staying deeply rooted in where I come from, while never losing sight of where I’m headed. Westwood shaped me—it gave me resilience, vision, and the ability to see possibility where others might see limitation. That foundation keeps me grounded, but it also fuels my imagination.
Creativity, to me, is like a living force. It’s a muscle you have to exercise, stretch, and protect. I stay sharp by constantly learning, experimenting, and surrounding myself with culture—whether that’s music, fashion, art, or simply the energy of community. I don’t wait for inspiration to arrive; I create the conditions for it to flourish.
Most importantly, I stay connected to purpose. When you know why you create, you never run out of reasons to create. For me, it’s about more than clothes, more than music—it’s about legacy, storytelling, and elevating the culture. That’s what keeps my creativity alive: honoring my roots, pushing boundaries, and reminding myself that every design, every lyric, every vision has the power to inspire and outlive me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My story begins in Westwood, a neighborhood in Memphis that taught me resilience, vision, and the ability to turn struggle into artistry. I didn’t grow up around luxury, but I grew up around culture—and that has always been more valuable than gold. From an early age, I realized that creativity could be a way not only to express myself but also to build something bigger than me: a legacy.
Today, I channel that vision into multiple lanes, but at the heart of it is Fa-Harra Co., my luxury fashion house. What excites me most is that it’s more than clothing—it’s culture elevated into timeless art. I design with the intention of merging hip-hop’s raw energy with the precision and refinement of high fashion. Every piece carries the spirit of Westwood Made—a reminder that luxury can rise from resilience and that artistry rooted in authenticity will always be iconic.
In this pursuit, I’ve been intentional about collaboration. That’s why I partnered with Bespoke Maestro—an alliance that reflects a shared commitment to craftsmanship, precision, and elevating the culture of luxury. Together, we’re not just building garments, but building a movement where artistry meets mastery, and community meets legacy.
Beyond fashion, I’m the founder of iVision Digital, a multimedia company that bridges music and storytelling, and I’m also a partner in Kings of Company, an entrepreneurial collective dedicated to building legacies. These ventures are interconnected—they all serve the same purpose: to inspire, to educate, and to prove that creative expression, when guided by purpose, can outlive us all.
As for what’s new, I’m excited about the LAINI Collection, which stands for Luxury Artistry Is Naturally Iconic. It’s our 2025 fall line built on cashmere, fine detailing, and culture-inspired design language. It’s not just a collection—it’s a statement of where we’re headed as a brand: deeper into craftsmanship, storytelling, and luxury that feels alive with meaning.
What I’d like readers to know is that my journey is about more than clothes, more than music—it’s about building platforms where art, culture, and legacy can thrive. I’m not just designing pieces; I’m designing futures, rooted in heritage and crafted with the belief that the highest form of luxury is purpose.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three qualities that have carried me the furthest are Thinking It, Visualizing It, and Believing It. To me, those three steps are the blueprint of creation.
First comes Thinking It—giving yourself permission to imagine a bigger reality for your life. Every great achievement begins in the mind. If you don’t allow yourself to think beyond your current circumstances, you’ll stay trapped in them.
Second is Visualizing It—seeing it so clearly in your spirit that it feels real before it even manifests. I’ve always been able to picture my designs, my music, and even the trajectory of my brand before they physically existed. Visualization turns abstract ideas into something you can almost touch.
Finally, it’s about Believing It—holding on to that vision with unshakable faith. Belief is what bridges the gap between the dream and the work. Once you believe, you’ll naturally align your actions, your discipline, and your energy to make it real.
My advice for anyone at the beginning of their journey is simple: master those three steps. Think boldly, visualize vividly, and believe relentlessly. If you do those things with conviction, it’s already yours—it’s just a matter of time before the world catches up to what you’ve already seen.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Everyone in my life has played a role in shaping me, but my mother stands apart—she is the jewel I was divinely blessed to experience in this universe. From my earliest days, she instilled independence and entrepreneurship, not through lectures or grand declarations, but through the quiet consistency of her actions. She lived the lessons before she ever spoke them, and only later did I realize that she had been preparing me for this journey all along.
She is, without question, my greatest teacher. She taught me the hustle, the grind, and the unfiltered reality of life as I know it today. Time and again, I step into situations that feel unfamiliar, only to hear her voice echo back from my childhood—phrases I once didn’t understand, now revealed as timeless truths. What seemed cryptic in youth has become prophetic wisdom, guiding my steps in moments when clarity matters most.
My mother is more than a parent—she is wisdom embodied, a living testament to resilience and vision. She taught not only through experience, but through foresight and love that was at once grounding and expansive. Every success, every strength, every piece of who I am carries her imprint. To me, she will always be the greatest teacher I have ever known, and her lessons will continue to breathe life into my purpose for as long as I walk this earth.
