Meet Fabiola Masserant

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Fabiola Masserant . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Fabiola below.

Fabiola , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Finding my purpose in life was not easy. I had to try several things until I understood what I was doing meant to me. It took me lots of conversations with God and an amazing leadership coach to guide me in my journey.

I’ve always worked in the beauty and fashion field and for a long time I listened to people saying that all of this wasn’t important, that it was futile. It wasn’t easy to live in this impasse for many years, I struggled with my talents and often had frustrating attempts to change careers.

Today I really thank all these people who made me feel this way because of them I went after my purpose. I hired the service of a leadership coach who guided me on this journey. For me, there is no other way to find your purpose without stopping and investing in self-knowledge.
I had a talent, a story, my beliefs and my values, I had put all of this together to understand my purpose.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I help people to look and feel their best. As an image strategist and consultant, my service is not only focused on how you can use your personal image for assertive visual communication but also how to express your real identity to generate self-confidence. It is very gratifying for me to see the results of the service that I offer and reap the rewards from it.

Last year I had the pleasure of being awarded the prestige Detroit based Hour Magazine’s best dressed of 2023 and I’m about to officially announce my partnership with Somerset Collection, an upscale, luxury super-regional shopping mall located in Metro Detroit, as personal stylist for anyone who needs assistance in selecting magnificent wardrobe pieces.

My services go beyond state and international borders as I offer online international consultation as well.
As I said before, dealing with personal image is still not clear to people, that’s why I offer a free consultancy that I designate “Discovery Call” to initiate the journey of identifying the starting point for the construction of your visual identity.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Practicing gratitude is definitely the most important step, secondly, improving my skills/talents/gifts and focusing on them and thirdly, making connections and long lasting relationships. The more grateful a person becomes, the more you receive, and are inspired to do more for others. I put gratitude first because it compels you to understand that you also need help and can’t do everything alone. Focusing on improving your skills/talents/gifts will keep you on track and make you realize that you don’t know everything and that you never will, forcing you to be humble. Having good relationship with people around you will save your energy to focus on your purpose in life and improve your personal growth.

My advice is that you practice these things so you will always be present in every moment of your life and your journey will be lighter.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Dale Carnegie’s book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” was certainly a turning point for me, not only because it contains extremely valuable information (that unfortunately is distorted nowadays), but because it was an affirmation that I was on the right path. I believe that we will take nothing from this world and that the only thing that will be leave behind will be the impact we have on people’s lives through our actions. I also love reading Brene Brown’s books. Before I started reading her books, I struggled all my life trying not to show my vulnerability. Showing yourself as vulnerable and not being afraid of making mistakes is a path that I am following towards my total freedom, it is very difficult, but I intend not to be diverted.
