Meet Fabiola Mistelske

We recently connected with Fabiola Mistelske and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Fabiola, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
As an entrepreneur, this is something that you have to be willing to accept and to put into action, without risks there is not reward, simple as that. In my case this is something that comes naturally to me, since a very young age, I never thought about the “what if” I always saw the reward after the finish line and the ability to make a “committed decision” is something I learned throughout the years is the key to develop the ability to take “risks”.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a licensed cosmetologist with a diploma in professional makeup artistry, after graduation in 2018 I had the opportunity to beautify one of my clients in beauty school for her wedding day, she was my very first bride, after going through the experience I felt in love with it! That was the turning point in my career, I knew right then that was what I wanted to do, and I never looked back! after graduation I started my education on bridal work only, I have spent the last 5 years of my career in expanding my knowledge and expertise in the bridal industry.

In late 2021 I took the decision to start my own bridal business and that is how “Fabiola Mistelske Beauty” was born, I now have a team of beauty professionals under my wing, while I remain the lead artist, I trained each one of my team members to be able to offer one-of-a-kind service and experience for all of our brides!

We are a 5-star rated team, we won “The Knot Best of Wedding of 2023” & “Wedding Wire Couples’ Choice Award of 2023″ we are also an exclusive member of ‘Style Me Pretty Little Black Book” and in our first year in business we manage to work in 75 weddings in 2022.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As a business owner I think you have to be able to be a “decision maker” as well as “risk taker” but most importantly you have to be able to have the right “mindset” and to me this has been my recipe for success!

My advice for new entrepreneurs or business owners is to have the right systems and processes put in place in your business as well as being comfortable looking at your analytics and numbers, this way you will be able to identify your strengths and weakness in your journey.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
This is something I still experience in my business from time to time. This is when I start concentrating in my mental and physical health! As an entrepreneur, I tend to overdo things and work, work, work until things get done and forget about myself! It is ok to take time off and make yourself a priority! because you are! Doing things that brings you joy will put you back in the right place and mindset to be able to keep moving forward in your business!
