Meet Faith Freeman

We recently connected with Faith Freeman and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Faith with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I am fortunate that my family also has a strong work ethic. I grew up in a family business so I saw first hand the importance of and value of having a strong work ethic. Both of my parents instilled this value in me and my sister and in fact to this day; my father is ninety years old and still goes to work every day.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My function at Primal Elements is not only to lead and direct the operation alongside my husband, I am responsible for driving all the creative aspects of the company. Whether it is new product design and fragrance selection I am also responsible to ensure that our products leave our facility at the highest level of quality our customers expect.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I think it is important to have a no quit attitude. Lots and lots of doors get slammed in your face before you make a sale; stay focused and preserver. Second, I think having the ability to listen is essential; always listen to all points of view before making a decision. We are so happy to be a second generation business now. Our son joined the business and had differing opinions than me from time to time. He would see things with fresh eyes and usually he was right so that was an interesting lesson for me. And Lastly, know your market. What do your customers really want from you? Always learning what is going in your selected industry is essential to successful business. The best advice I can give is to do! Don’t overthink things and wish you had done something or gone somewhere. Regret is a terrible thing.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My parents were and continue to be a strong support. I was always encouraged to do what I wanted and experiment. Both my parents were my biggest cheerleaders along this journey. Giving me the freedom to chose my path and discover is the greatest gift a parent can give a child.
