Meet Faith Hamick

We recently connected with Faith Hamick and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Faith, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

In 2022, I became a mother for the first time, and in 2024, I welcomed my second child. In between, I worked at a daycare, balancing the demands of motherhood and work, but often feeling like I had no time left for myself or my dreams. At that point in my life, I had fully embraced the role of “mom”—and while that role brought immense joy, it left little room for personal fulfillment.

When my second daughter was born, I made the decision to stay home with my girls and finally pursue my passion. Ever since I was young, I’ve dreamed of owning my own business and sharing my creations with the world. For years, that dream felt out of reach—until now. My business has been growing steadily, and I couldn’t be more proud of how far I’ve come. Being able to create, share, and connect with others through my work has brought me so much joy and purpose.

Today, I feel like I’ve truly found my place—not just as a stay-at-home mom, which is a blessing in itself, but as a business owner chasing a lifelong dream. Watching both my children and my business thrive has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m a crochet artist with a deep passion for amigurumi—the art of bringing yarn to life through handcrafted plush creations. There’s something truly magical about taking just a hook and a strand of yarn and turning it into anything you can imagine. This craft allows for endless creativity, and that’s what I love most about it.

Since starting my business, I’ve had the joy of fulfilling countless custom requests, each one more unique and inspiring than the last. It’s always exciting to see the ideas people dream up and to help turn those ideas into tangible, lovable pieces. In addition to creating custom plushies, I also design and sell my own digital PDF patterns, giving others the opportunity to bring their own handmade creations to life.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

For me, there are three key lessons every aspiring entrepreneur should remember when building their own business. First, believe in yourself. Trust your vision, know your product, understand your worth, and stand confidently behind what you create. Second, remember that your art won’t be for everyone—and that’s perfectly okay. Just because it doesn’t resonate with everyone doesn’t mean it won’t deeply connect with someone.

And third, not everything you try will work—and that’s part of the journey. Failure isn’t the end; it’s a stepping stone. I’ve started four self-made businesses before finally finding the right niche. It takes persistence, patience, and most importantly, grace. Keep going, keep learning, and trust that your passion will lead you where you’re meant to be.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My mother, grandmother, and husband have been some of the most influential figures in my journey as a business owner. From a young age, my mother and grandmother taught me how to crochet—an essential skill that laid the foundation for everything I do today. Their guidance and encouragement sparked a passion that would eventually grow into a full-fledged business.

My husband has been a constant source of support, giving me the opportunity to stay home and focus on building my brand. His unwavering belief in me and my vision has played a crucial role in my ability to pursue this dream.

While they’ve each had a significant impact, I’m also incredibly grateful for the support of my entire family. Their belief in me, their encouragement, and their faith in my journey have meant the world to me. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
