We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Fallon Marie. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Fallon below.
Fallon, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?
My self-discipline comes from a place of wanting a better life for myself and my children which gave me determination and made me work harder. I always persisted despite my circumstances and was resilient. I thank God for being where I am today. I am glad that I took a leap of faith and listened to what God had placed in my heart. Success comes with small beginnings, so I keep that in mind every day and always know that great things take time. Having your own business can be challenging there are highs and lows. I make sure to stay motivated and prioritize so that I can work toward the life I have always wanted.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I was born and raised in San Diego. I have been a hairstylist for over 10 years and love making client’s hair dreams come true! I recently became a salon suite owner in 2022 and it has been the best decision I have made for myself and my business. I offer a wide range of services from blondes, balayage, creative color, color corrections, hair extensions, and bridal hairstyles. What I love most is creating amazing hair transformations. I now offer in the salon and online ultimate hair care for all my client’s hair needs.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that are most impactful in my journey are being resilient, optimistic, and keeping my creativity alive. My advice for anyone early in their journey is to decide where you want to be in your life a year from now. Keeping this in mind always keeps me on track and focused. Trying to never waste a moment. Break down long-term goals into smaller ones by year, month, weeks, and days. Not being hard on yourself when you fail. Failure only brings you closer to success and teaches you what not to do the next time. Always keep educating yourself to master your skills even when you feel you have reached your best. There is always something new to learn in the beauty industry.
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
My biggest area of growth and improvement has been in making choices and decisions based on my values and beliefs for myself, my family, and business. Acknowledging all the good I already have in my life. Realizing Growth is painful but staying the same is even more painful. Being more intentional with my time and how it is spent. Spending time with my children is precious to me. Making sure to have balance in all areas of my life so that I can prioritize what is most important to me.
