We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Farah George a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Farah, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I keep my creativity alive by exploring diverse topics and experimenting with new approaches, but a big part of my inspiration comes from social media. I use it to discover trending fashion and makeup looks, embrace recycled seasons, and teach others about affordable dupes and products. It’s all about taking what’s trending, adding my unique twist, and turning it into a masterpiece. Plus, I love sharing my creations and knowledge to inspire others to express themselves and make fashion and beauty accessible to everyone.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
For 17 years, my work has revolved around creativity, self-expression, and accessibility in fashion and beauty. I draw inspiration from social media to recreate trending looks with a personal twist, teach others how to find affordable dupes, and breathe new life into recycled season trends. Beyond this, I’ve had the privilege of working on unique projects like stage makeup for church plays, special effects for movies, and setups for army training, which have sharpened my skills and perspective. What makes my work special is my ability to blend artistry with practicality, empowering others to discover their own style and confidence without overspending. Now, I’m excited to begin a new chapter, focusing on psychological research and medical school to explore the connection between self-expression, beauty, and mental well-being. This next step feels like a natural evolution of my passion for inspiring confidence and creativity in others.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Adaptability, creativity, and connection-building have defined my 17-year career. Adaptability helped me tackle diverse projects like special effects for movies, army training setups, and stage makeup for church plays and local plays/performances by staying flexible and open to new challenges. Creativity fueled my passion for reimagining trends and teaching others how to make beauty and fashion accessible. Connection-building opened doors to unique opportunities and allowed me to grow a supportive community. I always tell my makeup students that persistence and practice are key. For beginners, I recommend staying curious, experimenting to build creativity, and forming genuine relationships to open new paths. These qualities will guide you to growth and success.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’d love to collaborate with visionaries like Chris Appleton, Makeup by Mario, Hrush, Romero Jennings, Kevin Aucoin, and Scott Barnes, as well as top hair brands like Kitsch, Ouai, and Gisou. My hair is my crown, drawing attention everywhere I go, and I believe in showcasing natural beauty without excessive styling or fake hair. Why spend hours when my hair can be the poster child of any hair brand/stylist? I’m ready and excited to create impactful partnerships that celebrate authenticity and creativity. Hurry up and find me…..
