Meet FaT TrAk

We were lucky to catch up with FaT TrAk recently and have shared our conversation below.

FaT , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from the opportunity to leave behind music that people can enjoy long after I’m in Long gone in Heaven as well as to help spread the gospel.

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

And that I’m trying my very best daily to “do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
This December 31, 2025 myself and Felix Fast4ward have an instrumental project that we are releasing titled Earth Tones & Dragon Tails. I am very excited about this project and for the world to hear it. I am also very grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Felix Fast4ward again. He’s one of the greatest Dj and Musician of our time. Im so grateful to be able to make another project with him. We produced a project together with Ill Se7en titled Earthseed and now we have another project on the way. Blessed!

Professionally I am Facilitating and teaching students to produce music that goes against the grain. Whether it be beat production, mixing or song writing and delivery. It is very rewarding because the students are our future of music and I’d like to keep the culture of Hip Hop alive.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back the three areas of knowledge that were impactful on my journey was to learn how to mix at Cr8 Music academy that helped me to understand ways to make the songs I produce sound the exactly the way I had it coming from my Mpc 2500 beat machine into the songs and instrumentals you hear. I also learned to trust my ear and to also give them time to rest. Ear fatigue is real and can ruin a song. When I mix at (low levels) for an hour or two I step away and go walk for a while and stop for the day to come back and check it the next day in my car or headset the ln back to the studio to either put some finishing touches or bounce out the song to send to mastering. After I get it back from mastering I am so grateful to have one more pass to run a new mix thru just in case I hear something that needs to be fixed. Lastly collaboration. It’s very important for me to collaborate with Dj’s (I don’t cut/scratch) but want that in some of my production so I’ll pay one to dj for me; musicians that play live bass guitar like Ric Urrutia or Keith Gledhill or regular guitar like my Twin Brother, or keys and flutes like Felix Fast4ward who also does cuts/scratches off vinyl. I love making beats from scratch or with samples and can do it on my own but when I collaborate I believe it elevates my sound. A combination of all of those is what areas of qualities, knowledge and skills that impacted my journey the most.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The Bible. Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth!

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬ ‭KJV

“whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Life is short and each day is a gift from God.
