Meet Faustine McDonald

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Faustine McDonald. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Faustine, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Discovering my purpose was a journey that began early but took over two decades to fully realize and embrace the position I am in today. Understanding and accepting one’s purpose can transform mere aspiration into a meaningful pursuit of elevating one’s life. I believe firmly that what God has intended for each of us is uniquely ours, and until we embrace our purpose, we remain stagnant in life. Must keep your faith in God at the center of your life.

My journey to finding my purpose was intertwined with overcoming significant health challenges. Doctors doubted my survival at 11, 16, again at 18, and yet again at 21. Now, at 36, I’ve faced and overcome numerous obstacles, a testament to the strength derived from understanding my purpose. My existence is a beacon of hope and a source of inspiration for others battling sickle cell disease and anyone striving to overcome life’s hurdles. My purpose is not just to survive but to inspire and exemplify resilience to fellow warriors and all facing adversity.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My entrepreneurial journey began over 15 years ago with Survival Pride, evolving into Survivors Journey Clothing in 2019, and has since shaped me into the woman I am today—a motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and mentor.

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of A.C.E. – Aspire, Create, Elevate in April 2024, a venture that embodies our motto: “Aspire High, Create with Purpose, Elevate Beyond Limits.” A.C.E. is dedicated to uplifting individuals across all spectrums of life to achieve their highest potential. Our mission transcends traditional measures of success to honor both the ordinary and extraordinary achievements within communities, cutting across racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic lines.

A.C.E. was born from a desire to overcome systemic barriers and amplify the voices of those often left unheard. With initiatives ranging from public art to community programs, we aim to empower, include, and provide opportunities for all. Our vision is a world where everyone can thrive and be recognized for their unique contributions, fostering a more inclusive, proud, and opportunistic society.

As we prepare to launch A.C.E., I’m both excited and humbled, guided by a belief in stepping out of comfort zones—my mantra for the year. This endeavor, alongside Soul Destiny Design, a tiny home consulting, property management, and branding company, marks a significant milestone in my journey.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on the crucial qualities that have been instrumental in my journey, it’s hard to limit them to just three. However, determination, networking, and self-worth stand out as the pillars that not only shaped my path but also fortified me for the challenges ahead.

Determination for me goes beyond mere persistence. It’s about growing your resolve every time you face rejection or are told you’re not enough. It’s seeing every “no” not as a setback but as a stepping stone, pushing you to refine your goals and persevere with even greater fervor.

Networking is often misunderstood and underutilized. Successful networking isn’t just about accumulating contacts; it’s about engaging in meaningful conversations that enrich your understanding and open new doors. I learned the hard way that “Closed Mouths Don’t Get Fed.” This is a powerful reminder to be curious, to ask questions, and to listen intently. the key to unlocking the true potential of networking.

Lastly, knowing your worth is key. Recognizing and asserting the value of what you bring to the table is a game-changer. It took me a while to appreciate my unique contributions and to stand firm against being undervalued. Your worth is distinct, and realizing this empowers you to negotiate your place in personal and professional settings with confidence.

Each of these elements whether it’s the resilience in determination, the strategic approach to networking, or the profound understanding of one’s worth has not only tested but also strengthened me. They’re not just relevant but essential, providing the foundation for enduring success and personal growth.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
The journey of entrepreneurship is both rewarding and challenging, and it’s a common misconception that it’s a path one must walk alone. In reality, the growth and success of a business are significantly amplified through collaboration and networking. This is especially true for me as I seek to work alongside Black-owned and minority-owned businesses within the Raleigh area, as well as NC, SC, GA, and across the USA.

I am specifically interested in partnering with individuals and organizations in social media marketing and influencers who can help broaden the reach and impact of our shared messages. Additionally, I aim to collaborate with school teachers, coaches, and hospital staff to engage with their communities and share insights on being a living legacy & overcome life’s challenges. These opportunities are not just about business growth but about creating meaningful, positive impacts in our communities.

If you’re in these fields and share a vision for empowerment, collaboration, and community enrichment, I would love to connect with you. Let’s explore how we can support each other’s goals and make a lasting difference. For those interested in collaborating or learning more about my vision, please reach out through my website or direct contact methods available on my social media profiles. Together, we can achieve more and create a legacy of success and positive change.
