Meet Fayez Nowar

We were lucky to catch up with Fayez Nowar recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Fayez, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
Working two jobs and being a full-time student can certainly be difficult, but having time management skills is what is the most important. I believe I get my work ethic from both my mom and my dad as they have worked extremely hard to get to where they are currently. Managing my food page on Instagram can be difficult because sometimes I do not feel motivated to post after a long day of work, but without my supporters I would not be where I am today. I truly believe one has to be motivated and determined in what they do in order to accomplish what they want in life.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have always been intrigued about posting and taking pictures of food primarily in order to support local businesses that need the community’s support. I am grateful to have this amazing opportunity to showcase the different restaurants available in the DFW area given that I have lived here my whole life. The DFW metroplex is booming, and more small local businesses are opening their doors. It is crucial that we as a community support small family owned businesses in order to keep them in business. I would like everyone to know that I post honest reviews about the places I visit in order to allow those interested in visiting a restaurant to know what to expect.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back at when I first started my food blog, I was never consistent with posting, but as my page grew I started posting more often in order to increase the engagement of my page. The three qualities that were the most impactful in my journey would have to be honesty, compassion, and gratitude. My advice to everyone would be that you need to be confident in what you are doing otherwise there is no purpose.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
I believe the number one obstacle that I am currently facing for my page would be the shadow banning and censoring that Instagram has on a lot of accounts. For individuals who work so hard to produce content to not receive the attention they deserve is very disheartening given the fact that we work countless hours to produce the best content we can provide. Also, Instagram always favors reels over photos which I am at a disadvantage given that most of my posts are photos. Nonetheless, that won’t stop me from posting and this just motivates me more to continue what I enjoy doing the most.
