Meet FBN Sillo

We were lucky to catch up with FBN Sillo recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi FBN Sillo , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience is fueled by my beliefs, experiences, and self-determination. Both the challenges in my artistic endeavors and personal life serve as constant sources of inspiration, motivating me to persist and never give up.”

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
“From the heart of Jennings, Mo, St. Louis, my artistic odyssey took flight, spiraling across the globe. With the energy of an artistic nomad, I’ve unleashed my creativity as an artist, choreographer, and artistic director in mesmerizing locations like China, Japan, Toronto, and the farthest corners of the United States. I’ve graced screens, enrapturing audiences on TV, in electrifying commercials, and live performances, both as the star and in supporting roles, even dabbling in the world of acting.

My recent adventures find me entrenched in the pulsating heart of North Hollywood, Los Angeles, relentlessly expanding the horizons of my art. It all ignited back in St. Louis, a vibrant ember sparked by my collaboration in ‘Triple H and The FlyBoy Nation.’ We weren’t just a music group; we were a whirlwind, touring and throwing unforgettable parties that ignited my journey.

Yet, what truly fuels my drive is more than a mere love for my craft—it’s the memories of the fellow artists who shared my genesis but are no longer among us. Their spirited beginnings remain the fiery fuel that propels me forward, an unending dedication to honor their legacy as I carve my path.”

Beyond the stage and screens, I’ve recently introduced LetzWin LyfeStyle, culminating in the release of ‘From Me To You’ #FMTU on 11/03/23, a project close to my heart.

Moreover, my commitment to fostering creativity extends to my hometown with Corner House Studios, a space dedicated to nurturing innovation. This merger of LetzWin LyfeStyle and the birth of Corner House Studios reflects my unwavering dedication to the arts and the unrelenting pursuit of cultivating creativity.”

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, three pivotal elements were dedication, resilience in uncertain situations, and a deep understanding of the industry’s dynamics. My advice for those starting out is to cultivate these:

Dedication and Vision: Embrace hard work and an unwavering commitment to your goals. Define your vision clearly and be willing to adapt while staying true to your ultimate destination.
Tip for Improvement: Break down your goals into achievable steps. Review and refine your vision regularly. Stay open to adjustments while staying focused on your objectives.
Resilience and Determination: Don’t yield easily when faced with obstacles or rejection. Embrace uncertainty, knowing that progress often involves taking steps without a clear roadmap.
Tip for Improvement: Cultivate a resilient mindset by learning from setbacks. Embrace challenges as learning opportunities and build the capacity to adapt swiftly to changing circumstances.
Business Acumen and Self-Worth: Understand the industry you’re in, know your value, and stand firm on what you believe. For independent artists, knowing the business side is crucial. Always seek to enhance your craft to become the best version of yourself.
Tip for Improvement: Educate yourself on the business aspects of your industry. Network, learn from mentors, and continuously refine your skills. Understand your value and learn to negotiate and advocate for yourself confidently.
In essence, continuous learning, adaptability, and a deep understanding of your craft and the industry landscape are fundamental. Combine this with a resilient attitude, dedication, and an unshakable belief in your worth to carve a successful path as an artist.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Over the past 12 months, my most significant area of growth has been mastering the art of setting clear, achievable goals, and following through by establishing deadlines. This approach has fostered a more structured plan, enabling me to meet set deadlines and move forward, accepting the outcome, and transitioning smoothly to the next goal.
