We were lucky to catch up with FEARLESS recently and have shared our conversation below.
FEARLESS , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose once I gave my life back to Christ almost 20 years ago. Before then, I was a secular recording artist who wrote, recorded and promoted rap music since the age of 16, that glorified sex, drugs, murder and rebellion. Now I’m a gospel rapper who God uses to share my faith, my testimony and transformation through my music, as a form of ministry and a purpose to glorify Him.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My stage name is FEARLESS. I am a Jacksonville, Florida native who has performed and shared the stage with national recording artists such as Canton Jones, Flame, Lecrae, David and Tamala Mann, Pettidee, KB, Andy Mineo and 1kphew from Reach Records, D-Maub, Uncle Reece, Bizzle with God Over Money, Holy Gabbana formerly known as Boonk Gang and many more.
I’ve been doing music and ministry for over 15 years as well as being a servant at my local church. I’ve done outreach at countless community events and also prison ministry til this day. I have a compassion to reach the lost at all cost and to share my faith as God presents the opportunities.
I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for over 20 years and together we have two children who are young adults.
I currently have two albums out that are available on all digital platforms. Go stream and download “My Race: AFTF” and “Brixx” that are two dope music projects that will bless your soul! God is continuing to open up the doors for me to perform and share my faith on a weekly basis. I’ve been interviewed on several podcast shows, and I’m currently working on new music with my third solo album and two different group projects. Be on the lookout!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Faith, consistency and endurance were the most impactful qualities in my journey that has helped me succeed, not only as an artist, but as a man overall, being a husband and a father. When life got hard, and I felt like throwing in the towel on everything, those qualities helped remind myself of my “why” God created me, and the purpose he has set for me in this life. That’s why I’m here today, still going strong. So, my advice to the people will be, when life challenges you to the point you think about throwing in the towel, always remember your dreams, your purpose, your passion and “why” God created you, that’ll help you and motivate you to keep pressing!
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My wife, kids, pastor, other spiritual leaders, my circle of people who I consider family, who are not my actual blood family members, and the true supporters of my music, are those who help me overcome the challenges I face, so, I can continue to be successful with what God has called me to do. Whether it’s words of wisdom, guidance, teachings from the scriptures, prayer, words of encouragement, resources, finances, downloads of my music, they all contribute one way or the other to keep me on my path of greatness! I’m so grateful to have those people in my life, because without them I wouldn’t have made it this far!
