We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Federico Galavis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Federico, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Constant learning, hard work, meditation, exercise, and consistency are the cornerstones of building resilience in my practice. Through continuous learning, i acquire new knowledge and skills, enabling to adapt to challenges. Hard work instills discipline and determination, essential for overcoming obstacles. Meditation provides mental clarity and emotional balance, helping me remain focused and composed in the face of adversity. Exercise strengthens my physical and mental well-being, enhancing my ability to endure stress. Consistency in my craft ties these elements together, forming a strong foundation in my artistic practice and thrive in my pursuits.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Born in Caracas, Galavis considers his art a movement: “Figurative Abstract Conceptual Expressionism” with his modernist style he incorporates fauvism, surrealism and cubism, and uses varied types of oils, spray paints and textured mediums and digital – no size or shape of canvas is off limits.
His focus over the past year has been Web3, creating crypto art recorded on the blockchain through NFT’s. As the internet transitions from Web2 to Web3, this new infrastructure is shaking up of the relationship between creators and their audience and removing the financial gatekeepers. Creative industries are about art, but the ability to monetize that art has always been controlled by a chosen few and we are changing that.
Through his art, he calls to the spirit of humanity to revolt, to free itself, while stating his views on human consciousness, equality, inclusiveness and its socio-political consequences. His message speaks to the complexities of the human condition through the empowerment of women since he considers men have shown throughout time as the destructor, while women the creator.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Ability to accept change
Curiosity: Be curious and unafraid of new fields, technologies or mediums
Expression: Art is a form of communication, so conveying emotions, stories, or concepts through the work. To translate thoughts and feelings into visual representations and messages
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda
The Power of Self-Realization: The book emphasizes the importance of self-realization and the journey to discover one’s true self. Yogananda’s life story illustrates that a deep understanding of our inner spiritual nature can lead to profound personal transformation and a closer connection to the divine.
The Unity of Religions: Yogananda’s teachings highlight the unity at the core of all religious traditions. He encourages readers to see beyond the surface differences in faiths and recognize the common pursuit of spiritual truth and higher consciousness that unites all humanity.
