Meet Feilani Rubin

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Feilani Rubin . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Feilani below.

Feilani , appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
I keep my creativity alive by connecting with nature everyday. Even in the smallest way like listening to the birds in the morning. Or sitting still at the beach in the afternoons.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My story in home fragrance began during quarantine. I was inspired to create candles at home to gift to family, friends & neighbors. I wanted to help in even the smallest way to give people comfort in their homes. And maybe even transport their senses, to help alleviate cabin fever during that unusual time.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The best piece of knowledge I can share is when it comes to making mistakes, don’t beat yourself up with them. In fact, I learned to embrace them! A lot of my successes came from ideas I gained from my mistakes. And although I’m still, to this day, making mistakes along the way, I’m glad that there were many to be learned from early on.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed, I go straight to my beautiful notebook that I bought during my first trip to Bali. I’ve learned that when I start spiraling into anything that worries me, writing down “I am grateful for…” can turn me around in a matter of minutes! In another notebook, to stay laser focused & inspired, I found that writing down ideas for expanding & to-do lists for my brand to be super helpful. I think writing is such a powerful business tool. . I truly believe the ideas in them come to fruition much faster than if they were just a thought.
