Meet FENESSE HENRY

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to FENESSE HENRY. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi FENESSE, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

From the jump, I’ve been a stubborn person.Resilience for me stems from that stubbornness. My relationship with my craft is entirely in my control. The good and the bad are directly tied with the amount of effort I’ve put in. I refuse to believe that I won’t be successful, even in the humbling moments. At the end of the day, I chalk up bumps in the road and setbacks to just growing pains. In my life, I’ve seen a lot of people I don’t want to be like growing up. Not having a pillar to lean on, I realized the path I’m going will be uncomfortable since I’ve never known anyone that’s done it before me. So, if I’m going to be uncomfortable anyway, I’m going to choose the one where I’m chasing after something I love.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m at a very exciting point in my career and life. I have been continuing to shape and craft my sound while also trying to challenge my voice into new ranges. My goals include mastering my voice. Recently, I was part of an RnB writing camp here in Detroit, held by Dustin Slater and the rest of the team at Stereo House Studios.Being in an environment with amazing singers sparked a fire in me. There are emotions and certain vibes that can’t always be invoked with just rapping. So, I’ve been pushing my pen with more melody-inspired songs like “Somebody” and “Be Alright.” My new music will continue to push into different genres while staying true to my own sound. I’m very excited for my fans who have been with me from the start to see the growth, and to make new fans who can come along on this ride with me.

After many conversations with my team about what direction to move towards to further my career, I’ve turned to being more present in my social media presence to promote my music. I never thought of myself as a content creator, but the reality of the space we are in today is that it’s really a crucial key in order to get people to listen. Everyone and their mother make music now, regardless of how confident I am in the quality of music I’m putting out. If no one hears it or knows where to find it, it’ll never reach the people it needs to. My music is a mirror. It shows the ugly truths and beautiful moments of my experience so far. As I grow as a man and change my environment, my music gains a larger scope in which my fans relate.

Coming up, I’m excited to be part of Party In The Park on July 27th at Riverside Park, hosted by Ethreon. It’s a dope event that mixes the world of skateboarding with music. I performed there last year and have grown closer with the Ethreon team since. I love what they’ve got going on, and combining the two worlds is dope for me since I used to have skate dreams back in the day. Which obviously didn’t work out.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Confidence, Adaptability, and Individualism.

Each one ties into the other. Be true to who you are, make what you want to make, and be willing to grow. If you lock in and have a mindset like that, whatever you choose to do, you’ll succeed.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I’m always looking to work and connect with other artists, producers, writers, photographers… really any creatives in general. The best way to reach me is either through email or Instagram. My emails for any booking/collaborations inquiries are [email protected] and [email protected]. My Instagram is @Fenesserrr, which is my handle on all my socials.
