Hi Fidia, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I find my purpose around me. I deeply feel part of this society, and from my fortunate position, I want to make a difference by giving a voice to those who have given up. How can art do that? By making people think. Think about solutions. Think about being united. By uplifting viewers’ lives with charming, funny, and inspiring art, helping them find their purposes and awaken to this beautiful life. People and society are my purpose.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a contemporary artist, but first and foremost, I’m a human being. People often think of artists as aliens, capable of creating unimaginable things. I honestly believe that we all have the potential to be “supernatural.” It’s just a matter of choice: do you want to succumb to the pressure of negative vibes, or do you want to believe in your outstanding self? The moment you start believing in your gift (whatever it is), magic happens, and your dreams come true. For some, it’s easier; for others, it’s incredibly hard, but perseverance and faith in yourself are always rewarded.
My art is a reflection of this belief. I never imagined I would reach the point where I am now, but I always believed I had a mission: to communicate with the world. And it did happen. My sculptures, installations, and art are the voice of all of this. They are not just my voice but the voice of everyone’s dreams.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Be honest. Be kind. Be humble. But never let anybody steal your dreams. Always believe, because that is the real meaning of this life journey. When you fall, stand up and start again. Never look further than what you have here and now. That’s your gear at the moment, so make the best out of it. Lastly, never have expectations: the best things come out of nowhere, just when you aren’t expecting them. Dreams are not expectations; they are the fuel for your spaceship so, enjoy the journey in the universe and always appreciate the little steps you take.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was bringing me into this world and steadfastly standing by my side ever since, like guiding stars illuminating my journey through life.
