We were lucky to catch up with Florence Knight recently and have shared our conversation below.
Florence, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from God and my two aunts who raised me! Katies Reynold and Bertha Roberson. I grew up in an atmosphere and never quitting find a way! Just because a issue arises doesn’t mean you stop trying. You just have to figure out a new way! I learned very young instead of quitting learn the lesson and move forward!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Knight Tyme Enterprise is a resource consultant company that assists others in developing marketing tools to promote business and services. Whatever the need Knight Tyme has the expertise to help you navigate towards a successful outcome, whether it’s a special event planning, direct mailings, market research, website development, proposal development or media buying. Knight Tyme Enterprise is the marketing voice to assist you in promoting products and services to reach your target markets. We value integrity, professionalism, and a good work ethic.
I find it most exciting when I see others win! My goal is to assist Small Business owners by getting them on track and lining up with their purpose. We have a proven record to take our clients from concept to customer in 90 days. This is based on them following our model and putting the strategy and structure in place.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The first to trust God! I am a believer and I believe that we move, live and have our being because of God! Therefore we cannot move without Him guiding our steps and placing dreams and visions in our hearts to move on! Keeping God first!
Secondly, would be education! Learning as much as you can about the industry, including the downfalls and success rate in your field. This will assist you in making better decisions and implement the proper structure and strategy. The industries and markets are forever changing and to stay in the game, we must always be willing to learn and grow.
Third, trusting your instinct! Going against the grain sometime is necessary! Not everyone will understand your Vision!
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Always having a mentor! Someone who has done this before, that is knowledgeable, insightful and not selfish with information! Someone with holds you accountable and makes you responsible for the actions you put in to your own growth and moving forward.
For me there were multiple people from that ranged from mentor, friend, leaders, pastor…it really depends on the challenge at hand. All have been essential in my growth personally and professionally.
