Hi FOR3ST HILLS, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Music has always been something the members of our band have found purpose and motivation in. Whether it’s been through listening to songs that we can relate to, or writing music that we think can help others; music has always been a natural driver for FOR3ST HILLS, and we can’t imagine our lives without it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
FOR3ST HILLS is a metal band with two members. Our band is independent and focuses on mental health awareness, and advocating for those who feel lost in this world and need to be reminded that they are never alone, no matter what. We believe music is medicine that can emotionally support us – whether it’s through sadness, anger, joy, or any other complex feeling or experience we may have. FOR3ST HILLS is always working on something new. Just this month, we released a new single titled “Help” which is about feeling unseen and unheard in a world that feels more dystopian than ever.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Honesty, variety, and determination are all three traits that have brought FOR3ST HILLS to where we are now. Honesty in our goals, who we are as people, and the direction of our band. Variety in our skills and knowledge; not just limited to knowing how to play our instruments or write lyrics, but in our ability to branch out and adapt to our environments. Whether that’s through working various jobs in other industries, seeking out education for new skills we can apply to our band, or otherwise. Being versatile and adaptable is key. Lastly, our determination is what brings everything full circle. Being able to keep getting up and trying, or trying new things, even if the outcome isn’t always what you hoped it would be. Having the drive to keep going is what’s contributed to FOR3ST HILLS being where we are now.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
FOR3ST HILLS is currently building out our own tour bus, which we’ll be using to tour. We started by purchasing a used school bus about one year ago, and ever since then we have been on a wild journey of building out our tour bus. Between unexpected medical issues, sudden moves across the country, job changes, and various other unplanned events, the last year has definitely had a lot of change and challenges in it. Right now, our current challenge is working to finish the build of our bus. This is a new project that neither of us had any experience in prior to starting it, so it’s been a huge learning and bonding experience for our band.
