We were lucky to catch up with Frances Ledgewood recently and have shared our conversation below.

Frances, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

Frances’ optimism is deeply rooted in her faith and her relationship with God. She draws strength and confidence from knowing that she can accomplish anything through the guidance and strength He provides. This unwavering belief fuels her passion for her work, allowing her to pour her heart into building meaningful relationships with her clients and creating stationery that reflects their unique stories. Her love for weddings and all things paper goods isn’t just about design—it’s about celebrating love, connection, and the beauty of new beginnings, all while honoring her purpose and faith.

At Ledgewood Fine Stationery, we specialize in creating timeless, elegant wedding stationery that celebrates the beauty of love and the start of a joyful marriage. From save-the-dates to custom wedding suites and coordinating day-of details, we ensure every piece reflects our clients’ unique love stories while staying rooted in proper etiquette and classic design principles. What makes this work so exciting is the privilege of being part of such a meaningful moment in our clients’ lives—helping them set the tone for their wedding day with stunning paper goods that they’ll cherish forever.

This year is extra special for us as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Ledgewood Fine Stationery! Reaching this milestone is a testament to our passion for craftsmanship, dedication to quality, and the amazing couples we’ve been blessed to work with over the years. As we mark this decade of designing for love, we’re also looking ahead to elevate our brand further, focusing on luxury, upscale weddings with exquisite printing methods like engraving, gold bevels, letterpress, and foil. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three qualities have been especially impactful in my journey: communication, patience, and a deep love for my craft. Clear and consistent communication is key to building trust and creating a seamless experience for clients. Patience has been equally crucial—whether it’s navigating complex projects, managing timelines, or balancing the demands of work and family, success doesn’t happen overnight. Finally, having a genuine love for what I do has been the driving force behind every design, every detail, and every relationship built along the way.

For those early in their journey, my advice is to be intentional about developing these skills. Communication takes practice—listen actively and always strive for clarity. Patience grows through experience and perspective; give yourself grace during challenges and celebrate progress, no matter how small. And above all, let your passion fuel your work. Stay curious, keep learning, and remind yourself why you started. These qualities are a journey, not a destination, and even now, I’m continually working to improve. Success lies in loving the process as much as the outcome.
